Hello, my friends! It's August long weekend here in BC (aka BC Day), a stat holiday today, so I am enjoying the quiet.
Here's Friday's outfit.
Highly appropriate for a long weekend Friday!- Blouse - Tommy Hilfiger, thrifted; purchased and first worn here in June for L's birthday of Indolence
- Skirt - Mister Leonard, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in May with turquoise
- Shoes - Franco Sarto, thrifted; last worn here (3rd outfit) in July with splatter
It was really quiet at work on Friday, so I defrosted the freezer (yes, I do odd things at work).
But in this outfit, I was majorly ready for the weekend.
The stuff:
Total vacay shoes and earrings!
- Earrings - Le Chateau
On Friday morning, Vizzini was sulking out on his post on the deck.
"You're leaving me? All alone?" |
On Saturday, we had a game of Ultimate Frisbee, so I dressed for changing at the field.
I adore this skirt, but I'm not in love with the top at all. It's a handy colour and layering piece, though.
- Top - Liz Claiborne, thrifted; last seen here in January with Chinoiserie
- Skirt - Alex Coleman of California, consignment; first worn here (2nd outfit) in March with fuzzy balls
- Sandals - Born, consignment; last seen here in July with a shiny maxi
Love the skirt. Such a fun pattern.
Double slits for walking.
The stuff:
We had a really tough game - my legs are still stiff today. I was so happy to put these easy leather sandals on after wearing cleats for 2 hours.
- Necklace - vintage fair
We dashed home after lunch to shower and change (I wore the same thing) and then headed back to town to go to a big sale at one of the local menswear stores.
Vizzini had moved slightly on the deck by the time we got back.
"You're here, you're gone, just make up your mind, woman." |
YUM. These were sitting with the rest of the men's shoes. They are Fluevogs, but they are a men's size 8, which is about a women's size 10.
Hey, I just bought a size 10.5 Fluevog shoe. I wonder if these would fit me? Fluevog does unisex shoes all the time.
They did fit, and look awesome. I love the floral print on the leather. This is actually the same leather as these shoes (picture link). These are the Down-to-Earth Hadfield.
They were 75% off - they ended up being $71.00 which is nearly the cheapest I've ever gotten Fluevogs for!
It always pays to try stuff on! I would never have found these otherwise!
Our dear friend Nick celebrated his birthday on Sunday by inviting all of us down to the local pub for some merriment.
I had planned to wear this dress to Vancouver last weekend, but it was too cold and rainy. This weekend was perfect.
- Dress - Origami Dress by Bodybag by Jude; last seen here in September 2014 with magenta
- Shoes - Born, consignment; last seen here in May with chainlink
- Shirt - Talbots, consignment; last seen here in July for a shopping expedition after work
- Fluffy underskirt - Noa Noa; last seen here under my Desigual dress in May
Fully blocked from the sun - I actually didn't wear the shirt until we walked home around 10pm. I used the parasol all afternoon.
I also carried my Spanish fan.
It was much needed earlier on.
I love the cool shape of this dress.
Pockets!
I splurged recently on a new and very good strapless bra - no more crappy ones!
It really helped having good under-support.
The stuff:
These shoes were awesome for a full walk to and from town.
Blue bling:
I took this belt out of the giveaway pile - I needed this specific colour! - so it's back in my closet for now.- Belt - Landes, thrifted
- Earrings - local
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
And now, a lazy afternoon. I hope you all had a cool weekend!
Wow, you can surely pull off that long printed beautiful skirt -
ReplyDeleteThe Sheila factor is at its highest level with that origami dress…. and the Spanish fan! I would have stopped you in the street to compliment you.
Oh score! Awesome Vogs. I love your summery looks. I think those new shoes would be cute to 'dress down' some dresses.
ReplyDeleteLove that maxi skirt, and the green halter neck dress. What make of strapless bra did you get? I'd like a good one which actually does the job it's supposed to do!
ReplyDeleteThose floral Fluevogs are fab! xx
Those Fluevog shoes! So pretty. I'd wear them with male or female clothes. You prove the usefulness of knowing your shoe-size in the opposite gender, just in case...
ReplyDeleteOMG, those Fluevogs are so fabulous. The shopping goddesses love you, they do. xox
ReplyDeleteQueen of drama with the fan. I bow down. Gorgeous. And the maxi skirt for pre- and post-ulty. The pattern, I could get lost in there. And by golly, your instincts scored you some mighty fine shoes. I have had luck trolling men's shoes as well, not quite the bouquet you got here, but it pays to look.
ReplyDeleteLove that pub outfit - all of the shades of blue work so well together and you look incredible! Definitely my favourite of all the things you wore over the long weekend :)
ReplyDeletefab post, lots of amazing outfits, loving particularly your maxiskirt and your party dress, such a pretty color and cool parasol!
ReplyDeletebesos
Sheila Fluvog should pay you to model their shoes!Best wishes from Diane in Australia
ReplyDeleteyour new brogues are WONDERFUL!!!!!!! I have complete and total shoe jealousy. xxooCaro
ReplyDeleteStellar outfits one and all!!! That is a killer deal on those shoes. Big congrats on scoring them for such a great discount.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely, positively love your 1980s yellow pencil skirt. On the very off chance you ever grow tired of it, please know that I'd be thrilled to give it a new home. :)
I hope that you're doing great and having a sunny, lovely week. The weather turned oddly rainy (for early August, I mean) up here in Penticton on Tuesday and given how grey the sky is right now, I think it's going to remain as such for a while longer.

Fantastic dress and shoes. And so good to show off your back. Love the tule underneath it. Another fantastic creation.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I feel stupid that I haven't tried on Fluevog pumps in the shop to determine my size in shoes/pumps. Because if I new what my size is in shoes I would so order those green suede Neptune pumps.... Never knew how comfortable these shoes are. Finally a shoe designer who cares about our feet. Take that stupid Louboutin.
