Woo, Friday is here! Time to wear a dress.
Gee, I just don't wear dresses enough! *snort*- Dress - no label, thrifted; purchased here for $19.99 - UPDATE: the dress is by Joe Fresh - I saw the same one in a thrift store.
- Shoes - Prepare Guides, Fluevog; last seen here just a week ago
I am old enough and experienced enough in the ways of clothes to know that an hourglass shape is the best on my body, and yet I do find myself drawn to different shapes, even if they are not as flattering on me.
I really enjoyed this sack dress, especially the lovely neckline, the perfect sleeves and the sweet, sweet pockets.
The stuff:
Home late due to a haircut, and the sun is all bright |
Aqua bling:
Considering I paid $5.00 for that choker and maybe $3.00 for that cuff, they are two awesome workhorses in my accessories collection.
- Choker - vintage fair
- Cuff - thrifted
- Earrings - local
After giving away about 15 bags of clothes last Saturday, I took 5 bags of what was left to work today and gave it all away. It felt so good - my desk was swarmed and it was all gone in 20 minutes! I love that karma!
Wishing everyone out there a good weekend!
I also love the good feeling that comes from a give away. Helps me to remember those good feelings when I am tempted to keep things in my collection that just don't work for me anymore (or never did!).
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Wish I worked in your office ! I love this sack shape too, even though I know I'm supposed to "feature" my waist. Have a fabulous weekend with L and V. xox
ReplyDeleteSheila, you are going to be DIZZY with all that karma - I send you loads of my own. It feels great to give away clothes. The swap and charity shop haul-off were my last big clean-outs. I love a good sack dress too.
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Sheila for donating your no longer loved clothing. Love your ultra-flattering shift & turquoise shoes combination(sheer class:)!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a fabulous weekend, too!
"Popping Aqua off of black and white" not only is that fun to say but it's fun to do. You look so pretty in your thrifted shift with the turquoise accessories. There are some serious turquoise vibes in the atmosphere lately.
ReplyDeleteI am the same, I just sometimes want a different shape even though it is less figure flattering. By now most of the people who know me, should know I have a gooooorrrgeous figure (haha).
ReplyDeleteSo I like this dress a lot. Good thinking to pair it with blue. Wouldn't have thought of that (me creativity is next to none).

I like the shape of this dress. It's unusual which perks our attention. And everything else about the outfit is done to perfection so our attention is rewarded.
ReplyDeleteI like this dress on you. I think you got the perfect dress of this type of silhouette for your body. We can still see your shape somewhat underneath it (meaning you aren't swimming around in there) but the dress itself is the arbiter of the shape.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way. I know I should wear thing that nip in at the waist, but sometimes I just like wearing silhouettes that are less flattering.
ReplyDeleteI would have totally picked this dress too. I love the print and the neckline!
I'm sure you feel lighter.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shoes!
bisous
Suzanne
Ain' nothin' wrong with a sack dress! You look great.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I wish I could have been at your workplace to look through your stuff, I'm sure there would have been something I would have fallen in love with (do you still have that denim bustier?). Bravo for letting go of all those clothes! I average about a garbage bag full every couple of months that gets donated to the Diabetes Association or the Goodwill.
ReplyDeleteI know that dresses with a defined waist look better on me too, but I have a couple of "sack" style dresses and I really like them. Sometimes our favourite outfits are not the ones that are the most flattering to our bodies ;)
Fifteen bag of clothes… gasp !
ReplyDeleteNow that's what I call a real closet edit.
I wish I worked with you, so i could have gone thorough all of your goodies.
