A Mile in Men's Shoes

I worked an 11-hour day today, so please forgive my lack of verbosity.
I'm sliding off the stairs - eep!
I'm tired.

  • Cardigan - L'Wren Scott for Banana Republic, thrifted; last seen here in She-Hulk mode in June
  • Sweater shell - Dana Buchman, thrifted; last layered here under embellishments in February
  • Skirt - Precis Petites, thrifted; last seen here in May with the same colourway
  • Shoes - Down-to-Earth Hadfield, Fluevog; purchased here on the weekend for $71.00

Actually, if you check out that link for the skirt's last wear, you'll see my Faith Hi Lo Reumah sandals, which are made of the same Fluevogian floral leather as these shoes.
Do you like my week socklets? They are sheer like nylons, but I needed not to be barefoot in new shoes. I did enjoy walking a mile in my men's shoes!

The stuff:
I love that these are called the Down-to-Earth Hadfields - do you think they're named after Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield? I bet they are! Ground control to Major Tom!

They were delightfully comfortable for my full 11 hours, including hoofing it to and from our other downtown office, and toting around boxes for 3 hours. My coworkers oohed and ahhed when I waggled my feet at them.

Delicate bling:
Soft florals and purples. This is one of my favourite colour combinations.

  • Scarf - Ralph Lauren, consignment
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Earrings - 90s
Okay, totally exhausted. Signing off...

  1. Those shoes with that scarf=genius! I have the short ankle boot version with the same floral leather and I love them. The colors are so beautiful. That shade of green is totally perfect on you, too. Hope you're getting lots of zzz's. I worked far too long of a day too and worst of it was, it began so gruesomely early :-).

  2. yes, yes - I lurve your new men's shoes. No man shall have them now! You look fabulous. Gotta get me some of those sheer socks. xox

  3. Ooohhh, those shoes are slaying me with their marvelousness!!! I can't remember the last time I saw a pair of brogues that I adored more. What a fun, stylish outfit - that cardigan, too, is making me go weak in the knees. There's something very haute mermaid, in the best kind of way, about its shimmery-ness.

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  4. It's a scientific fact that glittery cardigans make boxes feel much lighter when carried. Cool men's shoes too. Eleven hours? I'm tired just reading that!

  5. Oh, I am all for that happy cardigan. I love garments that have a personality of their own, this cardi certainly does.

  6. GAH!!! The shoes the shoes! It's all about the shoes!

  7. Love this outfit. So you. Adore the shoes!! I am so pleased you took me to Fluevog. My black and white booties prove to be a staple piece. I can wear them with so many outfits. And they instantly make the outfit edgy and modern. And soooo comfortable!! Again thank you.

  8. Oooooh, those shoes are just marvy!!!!I wish Fluevogs fit my feet, but then I would be bankrupt from buying shoes...
