Today, it's this gorgeous 100% cashmere cardigan:
And the shoes, and a ring. I absolutely adore this rich shade of marigold - it has too much orange in it to be a mustard.
It's so hard to find cashmere cardis that aren't grandma-styles. This was $26.95 in a consignment store. I checked this brand out online (they don't have a website) and they sell from about $70+ new. Wow. I don't think this one has been worn much at all.
I loved how this went with the teal embroidered skirt - all the shades of brown and turquoise worked well with the yellow, I thought.
I got a grab bag of jewelry for $10 in the same consignment store - some of the stuff was crap, but some of it is really nice. The blue ring is one of the nice items:
These are the new shoes:
They are a bit scuffed, but otherwise in pretty new condition. I like the grey/blue, dark green and brown mix with the gold trim and the brass studs. And check out the striped leather on the heel!
I also like the shape of the toe:
These were $24.00 in another consignment store.
The "baker's dozen" is how many years L and I have been married as of today! Wow, I can't believe it's been that long....haven't killed each other yet, haha!

Blowing a kiss to you, L:
Cardigan (Future Paradise, consignment), cami (Smart Set), skirt (unknown, label cut out), belt (Plum), shoes (Firetrap, consignment), blue ring (no brand, consignment), gold ring (Sarah Coventry, vintage 70s), necklace (Foxy).
Dress (Mac & Jac), shoes (Ralph Lauren, consignment), bag (The Bay), earrings/bangles (Le Chateau).
Heavens, I love that dress! It's so youthful and lovely! And...that tree necklace looks like the Tree of Life (as in Kabbalah) -- is it Jewish, by any chance?
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are killer!!!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute! I love the new shoes. They have that something special to them.
ReplyDeleteI was just reading one of those books that True Blood is based on and someone called Sookie "Marigold" while they were "undercover."
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are just lovely, cute and cool at the same time - I imagine that they can make any outfit work ;)
ReplyDeleteoh, thank you sharing on how you organize your closet! I've started hanging my skirts now, have to say that has actually been an improvement. I love that you hold your items up to see if they go and that you hang everything together in a section - so simple yet so clever!
I still think the hardest part is fit - like sometimes a top and a skirt would loke lovely together colorwise (is that a word? ;) but when I put them on the proportions and fit just don't work together.
Hope you have a great day!
Congratulations! Keep the love growing!
ReplyDeleteI am STILL looking for "MY" mustard colored top! It's becoming quite an obsession with me and your lovely cardigan fuels it.
The shoes are so wonderfully consistent with your great style and the dress is "you", too.
You look terrific!
Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best luck with cashmere sweaters at consignment stores, b/c this is another great find!
Congratulations...
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary - hope you had a wonderful dinner..... that last picture is so cute and you look beautiful :o)
CHeers !
Finding cashmere on consignment is like striking gold isn't it?
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on the anniversary!
What gorgeous colors together and they really compliment your hair color.
ReplyDeleteI love that color combo. I have a skirt in similar shades as yours and have had a hard time figuring out what to wear with it outside of white. Thanks for a terrific tip!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great find -- I always look for cashmere sweaters at the thrift store, but also find that they're mostly grandma styles. Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteSo I guess we both were shopping today. Great finds!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!!!
Holy Cats! What a great haul! Firstly, I just LOVE your turquoise/teal skirt- beautiful color, pattern, and cut! It goes so nicely with your new marigold sweater (another great color!). The shoes are awesome, and agree that shape of toe is so nice because it doesn't squish your toes together.
ReplyDeleteYou have great shopping karma- such fab finds! Isn't it so much more rewarding to find stuff in thrift/consignment stores? You feel like you've gotten a bargain AND found hidden treasure.
Most of all, congratulations on your anniversary!
That's wonderful, and I hope that you have another very happy 13 years!
(And skapamusik, I SO totally agree with you about finding things that look great colorwise, but proportionally don't cut it- that happens to me all the time!
Thanks, Julia, isn't it lovely? No, the tree necklace is from Foxy Originals (foxyoriginals.com), from the "Enchanted Forest" collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane, I agree!
Megan, thanks!
Wendy, I love those books - are you enjoying them? Do you watch the show?
skapmusik, thanks! I hope they'll be versatile. You're very welcome - watch for a closet post coming up in the next couple of months as I get ready for summer. I actually have 3 outfits all ready to go right now - I just need to choose which one I want to wear. Yes, I have that problem with proportions too - it's very annoying!
Thanks, Rebecca, we will. :) Ha, I'm sure you will find something. Thanks so much for your kind words.
Thanks, Tina! I've always got my eyes peeled for cashmere.
Thanks, Lorena, we did. Aw, cheers!
Sal, it totally is! Thank you so much!
Thanks very much, Lesa! Great to see you again.
LaShaune, me too! Oh, that's great, glad to have inspired you. :)
Yeah, I've turned one of my cashmere grandma cardis into a "wear around the house" cardi, Audi (but I couldn't resist buying it). I feel so luxurious. Thanks so much!
Tanya, I guess so! Thanks!
Thanks, Rita, I found all kinds of great stuff, yay! I do find it much more rewarding to shop second-hand. It's way more "the thrill of the hunt". Aw, thank you! I hope we do too.
Hi Sheila! You still rock it, girl! Karen
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen!
