This is a sedate look for me - younger me would approve.

As you've no doubt noticed, I had company for my pictures this morning.
"I know there is catnip in your closet, Woman."
There is! I bought him a couple of little stuffed mousies and he quickly sniffed them out as being in a bag low in my closet last night.
He's been relentlessly hounding us to open the closet and give him his Christmas treat early.
"I control you. Open the closet door!"
Oh yeah, the outfit. Nothing new here - all of these things have been in my closet for between two and 15 years.
It was cold and rainy today. Yay, winter!
- Fur scarf - thrifted
- Gloves - Ralph Lauren, consignment
- Mask - by Mom
The stuff:
My colleague Camille eyed these shoes. "You can have them when I'm tired of them," I promised. These are Best Teal Shoes, though - it would take a pretty special pair (Always Be Upgrading) to replace these.

Copper bling:
Some of my Bell Trading Post copper - it was sold in "trading post" style stores along Route 66 back in the 40s-60s. Many of these pieces were made by indigenous people, working behind glass for the tourists.
- Squash blossom cuff - Bell Trading Post, vintage 50s, consignment, Powell River
- Enamel/copper cuff - Matisse by Renoir, vintage 60s, vintage expo
- Copper necklace - Bell Trading Post, vintage 60s, consignment
- Small ring - Bell Trading Post, vintage 50s, Grandma J's
- Large ring - vintage, consignment
- Squash blossom brooch (worn on coat) - Bell Trading Post, vintage 50s, thrifted
- Enamel/copper earrings - Matisse by Renoir, vintage 60s, Grandma J's
The coloured parts in the Bell Trading Post pieces are powdered turquoise stone and resin, a sort of plastic.
As I was photographing my stuff (which I do when I get home from work), I had the closet open.
"I'm sure the catnip smell is coming from up there."
It's not - I moved it to the upper shelf behind him, under my skirts.
But he was very keen on going up on the shelf above my blouses, so I lifted him up there to explore.
"Bah, only lavender."
It was a production getting him off this shelf - I fear for my skin vs. his claws! I ended up lifting up the stool for him to step onto and "elevatored" him down.
Sherlock Vizzini on the case! Apparently patience is not one of his virtues. ;)
ReplyDeleteFun to tag along for his antics!
Cheers,
Laurie
What a funny cat! He will be very pleased to get them. The sparkly dress is pretty- just right for office bling.
ReplyDeleteVizzini is a keen kitty indeed! Phoebe was mad about catnip too, but Bess seems to be immune to the stuff ...
ReplyDeleteYour sparkly dress is fantastic, and I'm swooning over your copper bling. Quite a few stunning pieces here, but my favourite must be the enamel and copper cuff! It was interesting to learn about Bell Trading Post copper. You've got quite a collection there! xxx
Very nice outfit. The holidays are a perfect excuse to bring out the sparkle. I'm noticing in the last few posts that your mood seems very positive; that's great to see.
ReplyDeleteHe's got you exactly where he wants you!
ReplyDeleteLove your sequins and green combo! Really suits you!
I like those teal shoes- they are very attractive!xx Kezzie x
Lovely that you're wearing some sequins to office, totally inspiring!. This is a magnificent dress and also magnificent shoes, but my favourite thing is your fab copper jewellery! such an amazing collection!
ReplyDeletebesos
Your cat IS controlling you haha. Sweet Vizzini.
ReplyDeleteWell, you got your sparkly dress. Christmas and New Year can come. Althought I am sure you will wear something differently.

Classic black, sparkles and a kitty - what's not to love?! x
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun way to wear sparkles to the office! I like the layering and I love the copper jewellery with this :)
ReplyDeleteAlso impressed at Vizzini's detective skills! I have been trying to hide Cooper's treats from him and I'm now sure that I've bought the same bag of treats twice as one fell out of a different hiding spot recently, ha! The perils of having to hide things and forgetting what I've bought and where I've hidden it!
