Fancy Friday: Sam's Request: Big Boss Lady Pants, and Coat-Swooning

Reader and fellow blogger Sam (here, go follow this awesome person!) said she likes my "boss lady pants" and "it's your coats that I swoon over," so Sam, here's your request granted.
Boom! Big Pink Boss Lady Pants! Just for you.

  • Jacket - Talbots, thrifted; last worn here in January with a leopard skirt
  • Shirt - Karl Lagerfeld, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in May 2021 with grey and black
  • Pants - H&M, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in February for a Pink Lady V-Day
  • Shoes - Napoleoni, thrifted; last seen here in October 2021 with cord co-ords
  • Coat (below) - Cache, consignment; last worn here in March

Not that I ever need an excuse to wear these stupendous pink pants - they are the acme of Perfect Pink Boss Pants.
I wanted an outfit to feature the new-to-me belt too - and these trousers have a high waist.

From there, it was just a matter of picking a top, jacket and shoes.
This velvet blazer keeps making the cut - it's a silk/cotton blend. So soft.

Masked up.
More leopard!

Outerwear - I hope this coat is appropriately swoon-worthy for you, Sam.
It is the Pinnacle of Leopard Coats. Remember, kids, Always Be Upgrading!

Accoutrements:
And will ya look at that, I just thrifted the perfect scarf for this outfit! Leopard and floral, with pink.

  • Scarf - Careta, vintage, thrifted; purchased here for $16.95
  • Gloves - Ralph Lauren, consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
These shoes are a burgundy-brown - they are a nice warm neutral, and look at that sweet gold heel! Wee!

Snaky stuff:
Much-missed coworker Fiona was in the office today, and was MUCH impressed that I had matched my belt, bracelet and earrings.

  • Belt - Rodier, vintage 80s, thrifted; purchased here for $4.95
  • Gold coil cuff - Whiting & Davis, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Silver ring - BC Museum Gift Shop, 1986
  • Earrings - Red Sky

When I pointed out the ring, she gasped. I always go to 11.

And finally, if the plain leopard coat didn't cause a fit of the vapours, perhaps I can persuade you with the red satin lining? I had zero Velvet Rage with this coat over the blazer - now that's how you know you have a quality coat!
I'm also throwing in my brown and pink floral Doc Martens (consignment, last worn here in January on the blog), and a pair of shades (Incognito Mode), to keep it real - I wear them to walk to and from work if there's no rain in the forecast.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure!

  1. This is one bad-ass boss-lady sophisticated outfit! Sam was spot on in her suggestion and I marvel at the versatility of the pants depending upon how you choose to style them with different tops, shoes and accessories. I wouldn't have thought that bold pink pants could have multiple "personalities" but, then again, that was before I met you online!

I'm playing my own "game" with your reader-suggested outfits, which is trying to imagine myself wearing them. So far I am two for two. :-)

    Happy Weekend!

PS Are there any commenters from the NY Metro area? If so, might you suggest some second-hand clothing stores?

    1. I so agree, Laurie - my Boss Pants are one of the best pairs of pants I've ever owned, and love that Sam thought of them right away. They are far more versatile than I ever thought a pair of pink pants could be!

How fun! Glad you are playing along. :)

      I don't think I have anyone who's a regular from Metro NY.

  5. Sam was so right to request your big boss lady pants, and this may well be my favourite incarnation of them. I can't get over how well pink works with leopard! You've got the best collection of coats, and this one certainly isn't an exception. And the red satin lining makes it even more swoon-worthy! Love the pink and brown floral Doc Martens too! I hope you're having a great weekend, my friend. Mine started only today - Saturday - instead of Friday, which is a bit weird! xxx

  10. I absolutely love, love this outfit! Something about the belt just makes it perfect as does the pink with the leopard and the brown. Wow is all I can say - this outfit is definitely an "11". I am amazed at how your glasses always work so well into your coordination.
