Happy V-Day, Pink Ladies!

Happy V-Day, my friends! I've always dreamed of being a member of the Pink Ladies from the movie musical Grease, and one of these days I'm going to make myself a Pink Ladies jacket (just waiting to find that right leather coat!).

But for now, I'll just settle for wearing a lot of pink, straight from my wardrobe, and featuring my new-to-me striped mohair sweater that I picked up last month in Powell River.
When I bought it, I realized immediately that it would be the perfect matched for my Big Boss Lady pants.

  • Sweater - Guess Jeans, vintage 90s, consignment, Powell River; purchased here for $23.00
  • Shirt - Denver Hayes, consignment; first worn here in September 2021 under a red/orange/coral dress
  • Pants - H&M, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in November 2021 with all the colours
  • Shoes - Super Fine Eminence, Fluevog; last worn here in September 2021 with my Beene suit
  • Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, vintage fair; last seen here in January

The real challenge will be styling this sweater with something other than these trousers!
It's hard to see, but I'm also wearing a sleeveless button-up collared shirt under the sweater - I rolled the sweater's mock-turtleneck to fit it under the collar.

The pink shirt is the exact shade of the pants.
When my HR lady saw me (on video chat), she exclaimed over all the pink.

It felt good to wear - pink makes me feel serene and calm.
This shade of pink is one of my favourites - it's rich without being too pastel.

Masked up: I spotted someone photo-bombing me.
"Just making sure there isn't any salmon in this bag."

There wasn't, but he always has to check!

Outerwear - rain loomed.
And I went even pinker with the Fuzzy Flamingo! There is none more pink.

Accoutrements:
I would totally wear a pink fedora. This cream one had to do.

  • Fedora - Edward Mann, vintage 60s, thrifted
  • Pashmina - Portolano, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
These shoes match perfectly, right down to the pale blue laces picking up the mint stripe in the sweater.

Heart bling:
I don't have a lot of pink bling, but I do have hearts! There are five here total - do you see them all?

  • Leather heart brooch - Smoking Lily
  • Heart earrings - thrifted
  • Bronze cuff - Myka, consignment
  • Gold/stone bracelet - thrifted
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

Did you wear anything pink or red for V-Day or is it all just a "screw it" for you? How does pink make you feel when you wear it?

  2. It's been so long since I saw Grease I had to Google "Pink Ladies"! I only remember Olivia Newton-John's Spandex trousers and high-heeled mules. Yes, you totally do need to make a jacket. I'm sure your perfect leather coat can't be far away.
Love this all pink look, the jumper is a perfect match with the Boss Lady pants and it's always a joy to see the Fuzzy Flamingo.
Are you sure there isn't any salmon in that bag? xxx

    1. I wanted to be Rizzo when I grew up. :) I'll keep looking for a jacket!

Thanks so much, Vix! No salmon in that bag, but still, the pocket panther checks...heh heh.

  3. I am loving how pink this is - and as always how well you have coordinated everything Sheila! :) I wore green and white on Valentine's day, haha! But I did cut my son's sandwiches for their lunch at school into little hearts! It's just not something really celebrated here, although I did see a little flower stall outside the supermarket on the weekend when we popped in for some groceries.

  4. I wore a red top and purple bottoms to yoga last night, which is a combo I would do only on Valentine's Day!

  5. What a beautiful all pink outfit! I love how you wore a shirt under that pink sweater. The legendary Lady Boss pants match with the sweater perfectly and I love the pink brocade baroque shoes. The coat is the icing on the cake. I couldn't imagine a more suitable outfit for Valentine's Day. No wonder Vizzini was in search for salmon. Always fun to see him photobomb:)
I wore green, mustard and black on Valentine's day, a departure from my usual choice that is either a red or a metallic dress. We planned to stay in but some friends called us to join them for dinner.

    1. Thanks so much, Ivana! The shirt underneath was necessary as the sweater is very sheer. It felt very PINK - I could feel people staring at me on the street. Vizzini will now forever be on the hunt for salmon!

I love that combo! Sounds like a lovely Valentine's. :)

  6. I was a punk when Grease came out, so I've never seen it, it would have damaged my street credibility :-) However, Jos's granddaughter sang in a Grease musical a couple of years ago, and I definitely remember those Pink Ladies! So, yes to the jacket!
And oh my, don't you look a vision in pink. The jumper is gorgeous and a perfect match for the Boss Lady trousers. I couldn't take my eyes off the shoes, and I squealed with delight when I saw you wearing the Fuzzy Flamingo to complete the picture!
I wore black and red, but didn't particularly pick the red for Valentine's ... xxx

  8. Hey Pink Lady, Happy V Day to you too. I don't wear pink or red for the day and I'm not a big wearer of pink clothing on any day, although it's fine if it's part of a pattern. Oddly enough, I have two hot pink coats - one winter and one Spring - and my everyday knapsack is also bright pink, so I obviously like the colour but only on certain things.

    1. I can't help getting into a theme, Shelley! It draws me...

That's funny that you have a lot of pink - I have two pink coats and have owned more. No pink purse/bag yet.

    1. I really enjoyed the pink overload of this look - it was fun to wear. Thank you!

I hope so too - I'm always on the lookout for pieces I can potentially transform. I have also come around on pink, but not every shade. PANK and this shade are my favourites.
