Full confession: I had put the Anna Sui skirt in the giveaway pile.
I'd felt iffy about it both of the last times I wore it, but it has been calling to me....

"Sheila...take me back...I have more potential..."
And I do really love it with the blue boots. Excellent call!

I was casting about in my closet, looking for a topper for the outfit, when I had the inspiration to add my Peacock Jacket.
The colour, the roses...I liked how it worked.

Outerwear - there we go. Sleeveless coat - perfect for this time of year.
It poured on the way to work, but the beret kept most of my hair dry. I know it scares some of you that my artwork is being exposed to the weather, or wear and tear - honest, this ink is not going anywhere. It doesn't wear off at all. It's meant to be worn!
- Scarf - Portolano, thrifted
- Beret - Club Monaco, thrifted
- Gloves - consignment
- Mask - by Mom
The stuff:
I bought sport insoles for these, which has snugged them up in the toe-box nicely, and given them an even cushier foot-bed. I did have to adjust the laces slightly, but not a big deal.
Gold bling:
Just a few complementary pieces.
- Chain - vintage 80s, Grandma J's
- Gold hoops - 5th anniversary gift from L
- Brass ring - vintage mall
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
I have only a few outfits left in this closet season and only one request left unfulfilled yet, so I'll also be doing a couple of outfits with my own favourite(s) this week. Exciting!
The skirt looks so great with your peacock jacket.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteThat's an excellent outfit, Sheila, and what a relief to read you're giving that skirt another chance. And of course you had to wear those magnificent blue boots one more time! And wow, isn't your peacock jacket just perfect with this outfit! xxx P.S. Can't wait to see my request :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann - yes, it's earned a reprieve. I loved the boots - they are quickly becoming a closet favourite. I was really happy to see how nicely the jacket paired with the skirt.
DeleteIt will be tomorrow's outfit!
Oh thank you for trying out my outfit request! I am swooning because the combination simply makes me smile for its vibrant, bold, powerful yet gentle vibes. The skirt is adds the gentle touch - its lines, hem and pattern - along with the color and pattern of your peacock jacket. I am relieved you took the skirt out of the giveaway pile! In my opinion :-) the outfit looks fabulous on you. :-) And yay for your peacock jacket having another opportunity to strut its stuff!
ReplyDeleteAlmost forgot - my "game" is now 3 for 3 as (no surprise) I would absolutely wear this outfit!
DeleteI liked that you were so specific! It took me a while to dig the skirt out, but I'm glad I did and I'm happy you suggested it. Thank you!
DeleteExcellent!
DeleteOoh... ahh... great outfit!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou absolutely did the boots and skirt right! So lovely but fun as well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sam!
DeleteWell done, Laurie. A wonderful suggestion.I'll never get tired of seeing those blue boots and your incredible artwork. xxx
ReplyDeleteI can't see myself ever getting tired of these boots! Thanks, Vix!
DeleteI'm singing, I'm so blue, over you......
ReplyDeleteLove it! Thanks, Kim!
DeleteDon't you just love when someone gives you a great idea? I also feel your blue boots are giving you a lot of inspiration these days. That's what we should look for in a purchase- that it fits with our style and that it inspires us. Someone a new pair of shoes can be so inspiring. Anyway, I love your blue styling. The skirt you parted ways with is very cute but the real star of this look for me is your peacock jacket. It is a work of art.
ReplyDeleteI do! I love hearing what people think, and I loved all of the suggestions for outfits. I've been drooling over these boots since they came out, and it was worth the impatience of waiting with all my gift cards before I bought them.
DeleteThanks so much!
This outfit came together so well! I love all of that blue and your jacket is the perfect piece with this - it's just so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI was really happy to discover how well the Peacock Jacket went with this outfit. Thanks, Mica!
DeleteA symphony of blues! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
DeleteYes, yes, yes! RHAPSODY IN BLUE! Eat your heart out Gershwin!
ReplyDeleteLove the boot and tights combo in conjunction with the second chance Sui! Is it now a keeper?
The jacket looks gorgeous with the ensemble though I'm glad you reassured us on the fixing of the ink!x
Lol, would Gershwin like this, though?? :D
DeleteThanks, Kezzie! Yes, the Sui is now a keeper. I can't toss something that works so well with a piece of my art. Yes, the inks are fine - no rubbing can budge them.
Gorgeous! Those boots + that AS skirt are a pair made in fashion heaven! They really do look like could have been designed to work together.
