This is my 21st wearing of this lovely skirt (Flashback here), but only the first time I've worn pink with it. I know, shocking, right?
- Jacket - Marc Cain, consignment; last worn here in July for a pre-dental Mental Health Shop
- Blouse - Talbots, thrifted; last seen here layered under a pink sweater in April
- Skirt - Alfred Sung, vintage 80s, consignment; last worn here in August with blue bookends
- Shoes - Poetic Licence; last seen here in April for a Zoom call with Elaine and Cat
Pink and green is a fabulous combo - if flowers can do it, so can I!
I added my multi-coloured, ragged-edged plaid jacket. It's got navy blue, white, pink, orange and green in it, so it goes with a lot of my wardrobe.

Done up - it has big snaps down the front - with the blouse ties hanging out.
The jacket itself has some pre-done embroidered and beaded embellishments. No brooches needed!
The skirt's hem is also deliberately ragged - I give it a "haircut" every so often, as those little bits are total cat-bait.

Jacket off - I left it on all day, but you never know when a hot flash may strike!
Or when I'll suddenly feel chilly.

The stuff:
An outing for my "Kermit" shoes. I'm at 21 wearings of these too (Flashback here). These are a bit high for me these days, but I didn't leave my desk much.

- Snakeskin cuff - vintage 80s, given away by me, and thrifted again
- Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment, Vancouver
- Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
What a nice outfit. Unusual but the pieces work wonderfully together. I'm also always impressed by your detailed recording of prior wearings. I lack the discipline to create that.
ReplyDeleteThank you, hon. I am eternally thankful that I realized very early on that it would be useful to link back to previous wearings. It's just a routine now to look up the last time I wore it all.
DeleteGreat look She! Those new sunglasses are delicious. Appreciate the raccoon update. Eyes on the street!
ReplyDeletexocaro
Thanks, Caro honey. I love my shades - I feel like a star!
DeleteLOL, eyes on the street! Watching those racoons!
Nature's colors lead us to wonderful combos in clothes! Oof, am glad the raccoon was gone by the morning; as noted previously, am not a fan of these masked marauders.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, before I was reminded of their height, was thinking that your shoes were the perfect accompaniment and my first words were "ooo, cool shoes!"
Cheers on this (in NY) hot, humid, poor air quality kind of a day!
They do, Laurie! I always recommend looking at nature for colour combination ideas. I didn't mind the raccoons in the trees - they are cute, at least.
DeleteI love these shoes, but yeah, that's a 3.5-4 inch heel. Too high for regular wear, but too amazing to get rid of.
Thank you! I hope the heat has eased for you!
Ooh, I love pink and green too, and you're right, if flowers can do it, so can we! In fact, that's why so many colours go with green! That shiny green skirt is as marvel, as are your Kermit shoes, which I've been secretly coveting. Too high for me too, alas!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that raccoon will be coming back now that it has found the perfect napping spot! xxx
I have a lot of green in my wardrobe for that very reason, Ann - it does go with everything! Thank you - I'm glad I can wear the shoes for a day in the office still. I'll probably put them on display when they are too high.
DeleteI haven't seen either of them since, but I've spotted racoons in that tree before.
This is a beautiful skirt Sheila. That shade of green is fabulous and I love that you give the hem a hair cut every now and then to keep it distressed. The pink blouse is wonderful. I agree that green and pink is a lovely combo. 🌸🌸🌸🌸 The jacket is phenomenal as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ivana! I trim the long pieces off (Vizzini likes to go after them), and give "haircuts" to most of my distressed clothes every so often.
DeleteI love these colours together, thank you!
The shoes are very chic as well. The raccoon made me laugh. 😂
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too! :)
DeleteYes, pink and green together are a winning combination. Loved the outfit and the Kermit shoes are just too fabulouse for words - and they're green!
ReplyDeleteThe raccoon looked so cosy tucked up in the tree fork...
xxx
Thank you, Vronni! I agree - it's been a favourite combination of mine since I was a kid. The shoes are fuzzy too!
DeleteHe does, doesn't he? :)
I really like that jacket with the pink and green! :) I've never tried these shades of pink and green before, although I wear olive and blush now and then. I really need to mix it up a bit and try other shades!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! If you can do olive and blush, you can do any shade of green/pink together. Shake it up!
DeleteBeautiful skirt, lovely shade of green and perfect with those shoes.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t worn pink and green together; I need to try this and be more adventurous. x
Thank you, Phyl! Go for it! Try and see if you like it. :)
DeleteI swoon every time you wear the Kermit shoes!!! Green and pink in any shade is one of my most favorite color combinations since I was a young girl.
ReplyDeleteThey are such beautiful shoes, aren't they, Chalotalo? Same here!
DeleteThat racoon is just so sweet, look at how snuggly he is!
ReplyDeleteI love pink and green together, a very popular colour combo in India. I look at a heel higher than two inches now and just wince. xxx
He's just waiting to climb down and go after our garbage bins, Vix! Yes, it's a wonderful combination. High heels like this are verging on too high for me - I do keep wearing my mid-range heels (up to 3") just to keep my feet able to wear them!
DeleteLove your outfit - especially the jacket and the shoes. I grew up with the 'rule' Pink and green fit for a queen, pink and blue will never do! I think the clothing rules are outdated but some things stay in the memory banks forever.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - those were such silly rules! Pink and blue are beautiful together! Isn't there a "blue and green should never be seen" rule too? Utter garbage!
DeleteYou have a very saucy look today!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought I looked professional! :) Thanks, Nana!
DeleteSheila!!! That ragged hem on this amazing Alfred Sung skirt- I'm dying here!!! And those shoes! Girl...I need to get into that closet!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fabulous, Lucy? Thanks so much!
DeleteI love how pink and green look together - it reminds me of some of those marvelous atomic themed prints from the 1950's. A very funky but professional outfit.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Shelley. OMG, yes, I love those prints!
DeleteLovely classic combination but with a twist. Just the way I like it. The shoes have me drooling.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
I'm all about the twist on classics. :) I know, the shoes are so pretty, but also so high.
DeleteThe term "trash bender" just made my whole night. :D
ReplyDeleteLove that green skirt and can totally see how and why its wear count is now in the 20s. What a stunning colour, fabric, and classic design. Pairing it with pink is inspired. The two marry superbly.

Lol, awesome. I adore that skirt - I found the Best Green Skirt really early in my shopping adventures, so lucky. Thank you - can't believe I never wore it with pink before now.
