When I bought this bright reddy-orange skirt on the weekend, I knew I'd be pairing it with this orangey-red jacket.
- Jacket - Dex, consignment; first worn here in May with tweed and yellow
- Blouse - Sanctuary, thrifted; last seen here in April with colour-blocking (and these same shoes)
- Skirt - Mexx, consignment; purchased here for $20.00
- Shoes - Sol Sana; last seen here (2nd outfit) in June with my Corey Hart concert tee
The weather's been cloudy and warm, but not hot. I varied my outfit by wearing it without the jacket whenever I had to do some running around.
I have the bottom layer of the top tucked into my skirt.
But now I can't tell if it's just a really orangey-red.
|"Enough jabbering, Woman, let me in the hall!"|
I suspect I am overthinking this.
Black and white bling:
- Brooch - vintage fair
- Silver/onyx ring - Tocara, vintage fair
- Earrings - vintage fair
How was your Monday?
Awesome outfit, I love the vibrancy of the pieces. I am really liking the black vintage brooch.ReplyDelete
Thanks, Dar! I love that bigass brooch. It's so unusual (and it weighs a ton!).Delete
I love the two pieces together, even if the skirt is more reddish than you first thought, it is a nice colour either way! :)ReplyDelete
It's still a great colour. Thanks, Mica!Delete
Ooh, I really like these colors. You *always* find a way to make all of your outfits interesting. You're a fashion magician!ReplyDelete
Aw, thanks, Ally!Delete
In the first photo the skirt looks red but in all the other photos it is clearly an orangey red. I love it with the jacket and the spotty shoes are gorgeous!ReplyDelete
I'd like a nice orangey red lipstick....
Yes, it reads as dominantly orange to me as well, Vronni, but it really does dip heavily into the red tones.Delete
I struggle with orange-based lipsticks - they make my teeth look yellow!
Often I get inspired by your outfits. I was going to bring a bag of clothes tomorrow to the second hand shop and included a similar skirt, only longer. I think I will pop it out of the bag and wear it with black and white! Thanks!ReplyDelete
Aw, that's awesome to hear, Nancy, thank you! Give that skirt another shot!Delete
Wow, your accidental suit is just eye-poppingly bright, whether it's reddy-orange, or orangey-red. What a feast for the eyes! I loved how you balanced it out with the white 'n black top, shoes and accessories! Just fabulous! xxxReplyDelete
Thanks, Ann! I do love my brights, and was pleasantly surprised at how well the black and white worked with this "suit."Delete
Love this outfit. Everything red(dish) is top in my book and the skirt as well as the jacket are perfect, in colour and proportion and fit and uniqueness. And the shoes I want for myself.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Greetje! I love this company for shoes - they are lovely to look at AND to wear! I am with you on this bright red/orange - best colour!Delete
My favourite Indian snacks are called Naughty Tomato, I think that sums up this wonderful outfit perfectly!ReplyDelete
What a brilliant colour, I love the ruffle on your jacket and that sea anemone brooch! xxx
Ha, I love that! Thanks so much, Vix!Delete
It looks orangey-red to me! Your bright outfit looks great.ReplyDelete
Your earrings are lovely too. I don’t tend to wear earrings, but I’m starting to really like them lately. I’ll have to have a sticky-nose through my mum’s earring stash and borrow some of hers! X
Thank you! It felt almost like a suit!Delete
Earrings can really make an outfit - they can pull in colours in the outfit, and they are a nice detail that draws the eye up to you face. You definitely need to rummage through mum's jewelry stash - that's how I "rescued" so much from my mom in the 80s!
I agree with Vix, this colour is definitely "Naughty Tomato"! Love the vibrant colour - if you're going to wear a "suit", it should have a "POW" to it, and this one certainly does.ReplyDelete
It's the new name for it, for sure! Ha! Thanks, Shelley! Lovely to have a bonanza of comments from you today!Delete
I absolutely LOVE this outfit. The colors are stunning and the clothes look fabulous on you! I especially like how you echoed the grid of the jacket with the shirt, and that you thought to tuck in only one layer. You knocked it out of the park!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Julia! Aw, high praise!Delete
It does look like a suit, I am all for that gorgeous jacket .ReplyDelete
I really felt awesome in this outfit. Thank you, Lorena!Delete
love this color combo and the fabulous red skirt and jacket!, they really look like a suit, a really cool one!ReplyDelete
Thank you, Monica! I really liked this outfit, myself.Delete
