First day back after a week off...ugh. I spent 5 hours getting through my emails, then the rest of the day catching up on all piles of paper and mail that accumulated. It wasn't too bad, though - I'm basically all caught up.
- Blouse - Miu Miu, thrifted; last seen here in April with a picnic plaid
- Trousers - Lady Dutch, thrifted; last worn here in April with pigtails and a funky blouse
- Shoes - Eject; last seen here with this blouse in April (I know a winning combo!)
- Coat (below) - Avoca; last worn here last week
We woke up to fog this morning - in July! It's practically unheard of!
I built the outfit around my accessories, but I love the combination of this lovely greeny-yellow top and the olive green of the trousers.
I love these "genie" pants - they are super-slouchy and comfy.
How many emails will I have? Answer: 170.
Outerwear - rain predicted and it was actually a bit chilly, although I sweated on the way home.
- Bracelet - J. Crew, thrifted
- Snake pin - Red Sky
- Earrings - Hamilton purchase - first wearing, purchased here for $19.00
- Ring - POLY, Art Gallery of Hamilton gift shop - first wearing, purchased here for $14.40
Vizzini's been very affectionate with me. I think he thought I wasn't coming home.
"I was merely concerned for the Man's well-being - he missed you a lot."
He sat on my lap while I was on the computer yesterday.
"It's just a warm lap, nothing special."
I was practically vibrating from the deep purring!
"I might have missed you a little."
Silly Vizz-Meister, I know you did.
I put you on YouTube! :-)ReplyDelete
WHAT!!? So cool, Wendy! I'll be linking up to your post tonight! Thank you!Delete
I hate when I come back from holidays, it takes me days to catch up. The weather is not summery at all and the humidity makes it harder to figure out my clothes choice for the day. My boss has the AC jacked up and I've been wearing suit jackets & sweaters. On a brighter note I found some beautiful rose suede flats that fit like a dream and are comfortable. Hope you had a great time in Ontario! Love your outfit!ReplyDelete
I was lucky, and it was not too bad, Dar. I know, what is up with this weather?? I don't know what to wear!Delete
Nice to see you!
Wow that's a lot of emails and work to come back to, and a lot of catching up to do! at least you looked stylish while doing it! I love the colours in this outfit :)ReplyDelete
It's all good, Mica - I'm a pro, I can handle it. Thank you!Delete
Beautiful outfit, Sheila! Glad your first day back was not too bad.ReplyDelete
Thank you, Alli!Delete
I can't see your outfit through all that fog. :)ReplyDelete
Lol, silly Ally!Delete
Lovely outfit - what an unusual top! The trousers look so comfy...ReplyDelete
I love the picture behind your head; I think it might be you and Vizzini - is it?
Glad you're all caught up - you've got the weekend to look forward to now!
Thanks, Vronni - the top is really amazing construction, very good quality Miu Miu.Delete
It's older than that, actually. It was done for me by Megan Mae, and that's my kitty Inigo.
Oh, heck yes! Weekend!
I can sympathise with you having to catch up with all those e-mails. I've been there!ReplyDelete
I like your comfy outfit - I don't have many clothes in green
Ugh, it takes so long to get back on top of the.Delete
You need green - it's such a great colour.
Having just returned to work after more than two weeks, I'm obviously sympathizing with you, Sheila. And I too had lots and lots of emails to get through (over 700!) which took me most of the day. Wearing clothes which are comfortable plus make us feel great is the trick! Love the greeny-yellow top and shoes (those shoes!) and tortoiseshell bling, which I'm coveting. Well, of course Vizzini has missed you, even if he'll never admit it. The deep purring says it all. Phoebe's purring kept us awake the first night we were back! xxxReplyDelete
Oh, gosh, 700 emails? I'm going to stop complaining right now, Ann! I hope you're settling back into your routine after your lovely holiday. Thanks so much for your kind words about the outfit.Delete
Vizzini is quite clingy at times. We know he loves us. Oh, Phoebe, what a purry girl!
Ha ha, like when we return from a holiday. They behave as if they say:oh are you back already. But then they don't know how quick they want to sit on your lap. I love this outfit! What a beautiful colors!ReplyDelete
Yes, exactly, Nancy! ha! thank you!Delete
Lovely outfit! And the shoes- they're so fab! Of course Vizzini missed you. XReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Jess. Yes, of course he did - he's such a liar. ;-PDelete
Gah! I know the feeling - two weeks on the road and a gazillion messages! I'm up early today to catch up with blog reading.ReplyDelete
Love that green outfit so cool and luxe looking. Fog in July? The view looks more like November.
Gorgeous photos of you and Vizzini, the snuggly little man! xxx
That's work too! Getting caught up on all the blogs and comments - phew!Delete
Thanks, Vix! Yes, we have goofy weather here. One day foggy, the next sunny and hot, the next rainy.
wow, I sympathize with your feeling, having to deal with lots of mails and paper after holidays!! 170 mails! that's really too much!ReplyDelete
Lovely outfit indeed, the Green shades are cool and your shoes are Fabulous!, also lovely raincoat, it adds a lot of interest in a rainy day!
Thank you, Monica! It's a bit of a nightmare, but I won't let myself get stressed about it. 170 is better than the 4,000 I had a few years ago when I took off for 3 weeks!Delete
Thank you so much! I know, why should a raincoat be boring?
What a magnificent combination. Love the items themselves, the combination, the styling. You did bloody well. And of course I adore the shoes. Woman, you should do my shoe shopping for me.ReplyDelete
PS I had 3 weeks holiday and 345 emails when I got back.
Thanks so much, Greetje! Ha, if I ever make it over there, I'll go shoe shopping with you, deal?Delete
Zoiks, that's a lot!
Oh, I love the colours here so much! You look fabulous.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Radostin! Lovely to see you!Delete
It's always hard returning to work after having a week or more away. I had 180 emails when I got back after my visit to Vancouver! I very much love the outfit, especially the contrast of the yellow-green top and shoes with the army green of the pants.ReplyDelete
Vizzini definitely missed his "woman". Sylvester was super cuddly when I returned from vacation.
Yikes, I hope you were able to clear those up easily, Shelley - it's a huge amount! Thank you so much!Delete
Aw, that's so nice when they are cuddly, isn't it?
OMG you've been busy ! How fab that you got through all those emails. I will not complain anymore when I have what I say are "tons of emails" its nothing compared to you.ReplyDelete
I really like the trousers and the combination.
I get about 50-100 emails a day, typically, depending on the day/season (summer is quieter). I used to get a lot more - when I went to Italy and took 3 weeks off work, I had over 1500 emails.Delete
