Circular Shapes

Back to the grind, but of course, I exaggerate. I am lucky to work with a great group of people, and I was in pretty good spirits considering that long weekend was just not long enough.
It was grey and raining this morning, so I risked wearing this thick wool skirt once before I put it into the fall/winter pile. Of course, it was sunny by 10 am!

  • Blouse - Mexx, thrifted; last seen here in September 2018 with pops of yellow
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; purchased here for $6.95
  • Shoes - Prepare Hi Steady, Fluevog; last seen here in August 2018 with neoprene and silk
  • Leather jacket (below) - Kenzie, consignment; last worn here in April with a sunshine orange jumpsuit

I like this blouse, but I think this is the last wearing of it. I've had it for under a year, and paid $13.95 for it, and this is the 3rd time I've worn it.

There's nothing wrong with it - I just am not feeling it. Into the wash and then off to a new home it goes.

The skirt was amazing to wear - gorgeous thick wool.
I do like a good pencil skirt.

I'm noticing that the indoor morning pictures don't turn out as well as the stair picture or the "stuff" picture (which is taken when I get home in late afternoon). They look a bit grainy and the colour is off. I shall have to mess about with the settings for those.
Things feel better in general - I'm really smiling! I needed that weekend.

Outerwear - I loved how this soft yellow jacket looked with the outfit.
I missed having zero pockets in my outfit, though. Need more pockets!

The stuff:
The infamous "Disco Dutch" shoes. Not to everyone's taste, but they work for me.

Circular bling:
All the round things!

  • Belt - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Bracelet - Butler Fifth Avenue Collection, consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Aventurine/silver ring - consignment
  • Earrings - vintage fair

  1. Your mum's vintage 70's belt looks pretty styled with that gorgeous Mexx blouse and J. Crew pencil skirt!!! You styled yet another very attractive outfit - I love the look.

  2. Oh, what a shame, I've always loved that top, and it's looking particularly striking with your new green skirt and the vintage 1970s belt (I'm now wondering whether the one I've found is 1970s as well). Those Disco Dutch (love that name!) shoes are amazing too! The whole outfit is a winner for me, but I know very well that when you're not feeling something, it's better off elsewhere. Glad to hear you're feeling better and went back to work in good spirits. Now, where did I put mine? xxx

    1. I like it too, but I feel like I've exhausted all the possibilities for it with my wardrobe. I think your belt is definitely around the same era as this one. One of my coworkers named the shoes that when I first bought them. Hope your high spirits come back soon, Ann! Thank you so much for dropping by.

  3. I do love the yellow jacket with that skirt! I'm glad you're really smiling--- I'm behind on blog posts so I have to catch up with what's happening with everyone.
I know it's all about the lighting with pictures, but I'm horrid at it so I have no advice.

    1. Me too, Becky - I loved how it looked. Sometimes the smile is in the "fake it till you feel it" category - you know how that can be.

No worries - I really don't care all that much about my pics, ha ha!

    1. It is cool, and I'm glad I bought it, but I'm done with it now. Heh, we share similar taste in shoes!

I hope so - I still haven't figured out my indoor shots.

    1. Thank you! The neckline of the blouse didn't quite work for me but I did love the print. The skirt is in my winter pile!
