Monday, blerg. Let's distract ourselves with clothes! Weee!
I built the outfit around this new-to-me neoprene top. Gotta wear the new stuff!- Top - Club Monaco, thrifted; purchased here for $12.99 (new, with the bead bag still attached)
- Trousers - J. Crew, consignment; last seen here (4th outfit) in July with black and white
- Shoes - Prepare Hi Steady, Fluevog; last worn here in May with purple tigers
- Jacket (below) - Lord & Taylor, thrifted; last seen here in June
The shape of the top is slightly trapezey, so I wanted a slim bottom to balance the wideness. I wore a black camisole under the main top to avoid any flashes of belly skin in the office. I'm fine with arms up to my 'pits showing, but not my stomach.
"My stomach is far nicer than yours." |
I also showed a fair bit of my back ink today. Overall, I liked this top, although it did snag a bit and the beaded parts were somewhat pokey on my bare arms.
"My claws are also somewhat pokey." |
Outerwear - it's forest fire season here in BC, and we're starting to see the same haze we had last year. It looks cloudy out, but the light is more orangey.
This light jacket is more for sunblock. I was getting tired of the white linen one!
The stuff:
My "Disco Dutch" shoes! Sturdy, comfortable, and non-injurious to my leg.
Gold bling:
None of which is actual gold.
- Mesh cuff - vintage 60s, Mom's
- Cuff - thrifted
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Earrings - Biko, consignment
I love your silk trousers every time I see them. I would love a similar pair as I expect they are really comfy as well as elegant.
ReplyDeleteThey are comfy, Rebecca, as they breathe really well - however, they aren't stretch silk so they don't have any give to them.
DeleteThat's a fabularse outfit, loving the neoprene top (shame about the issues) and those amazing mustard shoes. xxx
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't know how long a top that prickles is going to last in my wardrobe. Thanks, hon!
DeleteWell, the top is cute and I love some tat flash, but if it's irritating... Rly digging the Disco Dutch clogs!!
ReplyDeleteYup, you know me - it's not going to last if it's pokey! Thanks, Becky!
DeleteToo bad the top is having issues, as it's looking fantastic with those divine silk trousers. The shoes are beyond awesome, but I'm probably saying that every time I see them! xxx
ReplyDeleteI do like the top - I might try it with a shirt under it - but it's on the chopping block. Thanks so much, Ann!
DeleteI really like that top, although it's a shame it wasn't so nice to wear. Looks great with the pants though! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree - I like how they go together. I'll try the top again soon and decide then.
DeleteReally ? that top ? on probation ? it looks so good - love how the tiny prints worked so well together.
ReplyDeleteYup, but I am trying it again today. The "print" on the top is actually beaded.
