This afternoon was my thrice-yearly trip to the periodontist for teeth scaling. It's my favourite!
No, it's not, that's the happy drugs talkin'. I am quite woozy and muzzy-headed, so bear with me - I want to get this post done before I crash into bed and sleep it off.- Dress - Diane Von Furstenberg "Mililani dress", thrifted; purchased here for $24.95
- Shoes - Prepare Guide, Fluevog; last worn here (5th outfit) for theatre with Mom in September
- Raincoat (below) - Avoca; last seen here in April
I'm wearing a really old turquoise cami by Esprit that I bought new in around 2007. It's a handy colour.
This was such a lovely dress to wear - it is silk jersey, so was warm without feeling heavy.
I like how the black-on-white scribble pattern is on the top and the peplum frill...
...while the skirt part is white-on-black scribble.
Making life easy on myself, I just plucked all the turquoise from my accessories to go with it.
I wore nylons with it (back down to 15 degrees today), which helped prevent the wrap portion from going all, "Woo, check out her underwear!" while I walked around the office.
Outerwear - it was sprinkling rain this morning, so time for my spring raincoat!
I love the pansy pattern, and that it actually repels rain!
In my hood, keeping my hair dry.
Because the coat is very thin nylon, lined with soft thin t-shirt, it is the perfect weight for warm rainy days.
The stuff:
My postie and my dental technician both admired my funky shoes.
Turquoise bling:
Mostly second-hand!
- Cuff - thrifted
- Shield ring - Nine West
- Turquoise/silver ring - local
- Earrings - furniture store
- Necklace - thrifted
Ah, made it...off to bed...
What a coincidence -- I got my teeth scaled today too. Your look is fabulous -- gorgeous dress and I love it with turquoise!
ReplyDeleteUgh, well, you have my sympathy, Cynthia! Thank you so much!
DeleteI agree with the postie, those shoes are FAB!! Anything turquoise is good, in my eyes! You're really a big fan of Fluevog, they should pay you for advertising their lovely shoes! X
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jess! I love them. Yes, I wear a lot of their shoes - ha, wouldn't that be fun!
DeleteI'm getting mine done in the morning...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dress - and I want your raincoat. I need something similar as a winter walking coat; it must be shower proof or even better, waterproof!
The blue shoes are amazing and I loved all your turquoise bling.
We had between 19 - 20 degrees today; yay!
Good luck, Vronni! I hope you have a gentle tech!
DeleteThank you! I am so pleased with the lovely colours of it.
Thanks - I adore turquoise. Wonderful weather - enjoy!
That print looks a bit like my last Friday's dress. Well, have a good sleep dear.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same - I commented on it when you wore it, Nancy. Thank you!
DeleteLove the reverse print on the top and bottom, and the little peplum, which is always a nice touch. Turquoise was the perfect colour to combine it with. Those shoes are beyond fabulous, my dear, no wonder you've got so many compliments. Not much fun having your teeth scaled, isn't it? xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's cool, isn't it? I love the little peplum, very forgiving! I think yellow or orange would also look great. Thank you - they shoes are not to everyone's taste, lol. No, I hate having my teeth done, but it's a necessary evil.
DeleteScribbles are genius!!! Reminds me of the character Carla in 'There's a boy in the girl's bathroom' who has a shirt with scribbles on!
ReplyDeleteThey're fun aren't they. I have no idea who that character is, but it sounds interesting. Thanks, Kezzie!
DeleteThat DVF dress is lovely specially the scribble print!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorena! I love the fit of her dresses.
Deletewoww, love the matchy turquoise bijouterie and shoes!, those are really fabulous shoes!. And you totally rock in your dress!, what a fantastic texture and shape!
ReplyDeleteAlso love your practical and cool raincoat!, this kind of light raincoat is really perfect for spring here too!
besos
Thanks, Monica! The raincoat is perfect for spring drizzle.
DeleteI wish I could find a raincoat like that - the pattern is pretty and it has a hood, which is all important. The ones I find at the thrift store here don't have hoods, which makes it useless for those days when it's too windy to put up an umbrella.
ReplyDeleteI know, that's why I gave in and bought this as a sample/new. I hate carrying an umbrella!
DeleteI bet you were the best dressed gal at the dentist in this fab scribble ensemble. I hope it all was bearable x How very clever is that mix of black/white and white/black? And turquoise - why the heck not!
ReplyDeleteOh, most likely, although I become so loopy that I really barely remember it. :) thanks, Anna!
