It's been so grey and gloomy lately - I really needed a hit of sunshine. If it's not going actually be sunny out, you have to make your own!
None of these pictures really do this jumpsuit justice - it is VIBRANT in real life!- Jumpsuit - Kensie, consignment; purchased here for $30.39
- Shoes - Desigual, thrifted; purchased here for $24.95
- Leather jacket (below) - Kenzie, consignment; first worn here in November
That's the magic of clothing - it can lift you up and make you feel bright and sunshine-y.
Overall, this was an awesome jumpsuit to wear all day. Very swooshy.
I just untied the attached belt, and unzipped the back to use the loo. I am not sure what possessed the manufacturer to put in a white zipper, though??
They ran out of orange zippers? It's not been replaced after-the-fact - I checked. I suspect that this jumpsuit is actually a sample, as there is also no content tag or evidence there ever was one, and I also couldn't find a single instance of this online. It doesn't feel like an old piece.
I do enjoy a solid colour sometimes. The cut is excellent.
I love the sleeves and pockets. Pockets!
Outerwear - this lovely buttery yellow leather jacket was just right.
I really felt like a walking ray of sunshine!
I even changed my bag - go, me!
That one's for you, Mica!
- Leather purse with tassel draw-string ties - no label, made in the USA, consignment
The stuff:
I really liked these sandals for the first two hours I wore them. Unfortunately, they are cheaply made, using fake leather - guaranteed not to last or stand up to any kind of wear. This is why I pay $200 a pair for Fluevogs: they don't fall apart (that's foreshadowing!).
Multicolour bling:
A solid colour allows me to be funky with my accessories. I must wear all of the colours at once!
- Bracelet - Butler Fifth Avenue Collection, consignment
- Earrings - antique mall, purchased here for $4.00 - first wearing
- Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
- Amber ring - c. 1996
So, the shoes. The strap on the left shoe pulled right out of the shoe after only wearing them for a couple of hours.
Ah, well, I thought, I'll just glue them when I get home.
Then an hour later, the sole of the right shoe separated.
You can see where the fake leather is pulling under the strap on that shoe too. I had to swap back to wearing my Doc Martens for the day - but I glued both shoes when I got home and they are back in my closet.
For now.
Shoes, you are on probation. One more stunt like this, and you're gone!
¡Your VIBRANT sunshine is spreading magic all the way to the Land of Enchantment! Magnificent
ReplyDeleteThank you, Chalotalo! Glad my sunshine has spread to NM!
DeleteThat's a real blast of sunshine Sheila and it looks fabulous on you. Lovely with the cute leather jacket.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Gail! I was really happy with how well the jacket went with it.
DeleteStopping by from #wowonwednesday nice to meet you and I love that orange jumpsuit, it's so bright and cheery. Do stop by and join my #linkup on Thursday #chicandstylish might be just for you! Jacqui Mummabstylish
ReplyDeleteHi, Jacqui! Thank you so much for visiting - I know you from Anna's Island Style. I will pop by - I don't do any linkups (so little time, and my blogging frequency is very high), but I appreciate the invite.
DeleteWhat cheerful colours! I have never tried a jumpsuit myself
ReplyDeleteGo for it, Rebecca!! Try something new!
DeleteI'm lost for words! This is beyond any doubt one of my favourite outfits of yours. That jumpsuit is sublime, especially combined with the cropped yellow jacket and colourful bling! Such a shame about the shoes, how very naughty of them! Thank you for cheering up a grey day in Belgium! xxx
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Ann, high praise indeed! Bad shoes! They had better perform next time, or they will be gone!
DeleteThat jumpsuit is absolutely cracking, you look amazing! Love that bag, too - just my kind of thing! What a shame about the shoes, it sounds like they're living on borrowed time. xxx
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Vix! The bag is amazing - gorgeous leather and suede. Yes, those shoes are on probation. One more try and if they don't hold up, they will be gone.
DeleteThe jumpsuit looks fab with that jacket!! Those shoes are so suspect now!!! Ugghhh!
ReplyDeleteI know, right, Becky? Such shoddy quality. Thanks so much! I felt great in this.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Chalotalo. Your sunshine magic is spreading all the way into New Mexico! It's a cloudy day here and it just started raining all hard. Your outfit brightens everything up! Sorry your shoes fell apart. Hopefully the glue will hold 'cause the shoes are really cool.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Cheryene! The glue will hold, and I'm hopeful for the shoes.
DeleteI love this sunny outfit and agree with your philosophy. That is the perfect jumpsuit and the addition of the yellow leather jacket and the green suede bucket bag is marvelous. Oh dear. Seems like those bad, bad no good shoes— could cause a real injury. I am so glad that you didn’t hurt yourself. I really enjoyed this happy post.

We have to make our own sunshine, Elle! That's why I resist changing my bright backgrounds.
DeleteThanks so much for visiting - I'll be over soon!
What a lovely sunshiny outfit and yey for swapping your bag - that made me smile, as did your shout-out, thank you! :) It's a shame about the shoes but good that you could repair them!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to wean myself off my old, worn-out bag - you would be very proud! My black leather bag is now my go-to, with 3 other similar bags that I swap out.
DeleteI know, stupid shoes! One more wear, and we'll see how they do.
Dang, this is a sensational jumpsuit Sheila! I would wear it in a hearbeat. Although, not with those shoddy sandals - you deserve better than that my dear x
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awesome, Anna? No, these sandals are on a very short reprieve, I think.
DeleteWhat a great jumpsuit! I've never seen one I liked before this but I'd wear this in a New York minute. :)
ReplyDeleteA New York minute! Ha, love it!
DeleteThis picture re confirms you got a great jumpsuit ! It looks fabulous and now you have me wondering why anyone would use a white zipper.... Oh and the bucket bag is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteIt HAS to be a sample - why else would you use a white zipper?? Thanks! About time I used it!
DeleteI Totally Love this outfit and your orange fabulousness!, not only the color of the jumpsuit is Gorgeous, but also the shape is Amazing and fits you like a dream!, and love it with the cute bolero jacket!. I admire that you found the perfect jacket!, and cool accessorizing too!
ReplyDeleteSorry that the shoes started to dismantle after a few hours, so dissapointing!
besos
Thanks, Monica! I love the bright orange, so fun. I know, stupid shoes. They get one more shot!
DeleteWhat an amazing color (and coordinates so beautifully with your blog color palette as well)! My family had a station wagon this color in the '80s, so I've always loved it. And the jumpsuit is such a great shape for you, too. Feh on the shoddy quality of the shoes, though.
ReplyDelete(I'm not sure I've ever commented before, but I've been reading your blog for years and years. Apparently it takes a tiger-lily-orange jumpsuit to get me out from lurking.)
Welcome, Lark! I'm glad you de-lurked to say hello!
DeleteThank you so much for your kind comment - I love this bright orange, and what a fun association for you! Yes, not impressed with the shoes, but one more shot they shall get.
You are definitely sunshine here! Love the whole thing, and your tied-back hair shows off those amazing earrings quite well. A shame about the shoes, though. This wastefulness with shoddy production is a problem. I hope the glue works! Yes, and why the white zip? Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mel! I glued the hell out of the shoes, but they didn't look good (the heat from the glue gun melted the fake leather), so they were tossed. So wasteful!
DeleteI'm still puzzled by the white zip. It's not that hard to find orange ones, surely?
