Smokeshow: Pixelated Print and Goldenrod

Bouncing back with an outfit I'm happier with! Yellow always lifts my moods - I always include it in my fall/winter wardrobe to fight the blahs.
One last rewearing of this wonderful goldenrod wool skirt before it gets packed away, and debuting this vintage silk blouse.

  • Blouse - Roche de Paris, vintage 80s, vintage fair - purchased here for $34.95.
  • Skirt - handmade, thrifted; last seen here in February with flowers, dots and chains
  • Shoes - Celestial Communication Andromeda, Fluevog; last seen here in November 2018 with giraffe and cashmere (and yeti)
  • Suede coat (below) - Prosper & Devine, antique store; last seen here in December 2018

This silk blouse was divine to wear - it's that really thick 80s sandwashed silk. My coworkers were amused by the 80s pixelated rose print. This is from back when computers were new and strange!

I love the pirate sash on the side of the blouse - it has a nice dropped waistband that sits in a good place. It does up with two little buttons above the ties, and one button at the back of the neck. It's lovely quality.

I've had many yellow skirts over the years and this is the best one.
Emily said I was a "smokeshow" today. That's a new term to me, so I had to check Urban Dictionary (link). Sweet, thanks, Emily! I did feel rather smokin' today!

I wish I was still in bed face.
I'm so not a morning person! Gimme my coffee!

Outerwear - it's windy, clear and chilly with a few clouds. That's Leather Weather!
This calls for the tentacle coat!

  • Scarf - faux Louis (Lewis!) Vuitton, thrifted

Shaking it up with some bubblegum pink fringe!
Dancing to the radio - coffee is goooood.

The stuff:
These shoes are so pretty, but that's a high heel. I stayed close to my desk all day.

Round bling:
There, I got to wear the necklace that matches yesterday's earrings. Take that!

  • Earrings - vintage fair - purchased here for $8.95 - first wearing
  • Silver pendant - M&M, consignment; purchased here for $8.00 in Vancouver - first wearing
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Hematite ring - thrifted

  1. Hello darling and don't you look fine and dandy in yellow and pink! I'm having a bit passion for yellow at the moment - we really need that sunny colour in our lives sometimes don't we? Am rewinding to find out all the latest with you. All seems well with you today, so I'll not fret too much about what has happened in my absence - life clearly goes on without me. Hugs to you for all your comments - you're a star xxx

I can't put this into words but coming here and admiring your fashion choices always makes me feel good. You're like a national treasure. (Or, since you're Canadian, an INTERnational treasure!)

  6. I'd never heard of the word "smokeshow" either, but Emily was spot on! That goldenrod skirt is such a fabulous shape and colour, and it looks even more fabulous paired with the silk monochrome blouse. Adding the tentacle coat (I was grinning when I read that) was the icing on the cake! Holy smoke! xxx

    1. It was totally new to me - and I had to ask her again (and email it to home!) so that I remembered it. Thank you, Ann! Ha, I know, the tentacle coat - such a fun name.
