Well, I hadn't planned on posting today, so consider this a bonus! Plus, for me, it'll be one less outfit to have tacked onto my Bigass Weekend post, and that means more time to chill. It's a win.
So, while L has a quick post-work nap, here you go - I'm the purple fairy! As one of my colleagues dubbed me today.- Dress - Max & Co., Florence, Italy; last worn here in December 2018 as festive Florentine!
- Shoes - Room 502 Entrance, Fluevog; last seen here in February on a snow day
- Leather coat (below) - Danier, thrifted; last worn here earlier this month
I'm not really sure how to take that - do I look like a caricature? I mulled over it for a while, then let it go.
He seemed really delighted with my outfit, and frankly, if how I look makes people happy, then I'm good with being a bit of an exaggerated version of myself from time to time.
I'm glad I got one more wearing out of this lovely dress. The fabric was hand-woven in Italy, the dress was made in Italy, and I bought it in Italy!
It gets packed away, as it's thick polyester, and too hot to wear in warm weather, plus I prefer it with tights.
I'm glad the shininess of it shows here.
I like shiny, which I'm sure comes as a shock to all of you (hee hee).
Outerwear - done up in the morning, undone on the way home.
A little girl on the bus this morning was very excited about me, whispering to her mom. "She likes your purple," said mum. I gave her a thumbs up and showed her my snake bracelet. Big eyes and a big smile ensued. Spreading my purple fairy good vibes!
The stuff:
I adore these shoes, but again, they are strictly cold-weather with tights. Bye, see you in September!
Gold bling:
I OG'd again! (Over-Golded!)
- Belt - thrifted, Powell River
- Snake bracelet - Whiting & Davis, vintage 80s, vintage fair
- Earrings - vintage fair
- Necklace - vintage fair; purchased here for $5.00 - first wearing
- Pin (below) - Dodds, vintage 60s, vintage fair; purchased here for $2.00 - first wearing
Shall I go "Laverne" and wear my S on all my clothes?
So very tempting! It's what a real purple fairy would do!
Lovely to see you in my Bloglovin' feed this morning, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress - the colour, the sparkle and the shape, no wonder the little girl was enamoured. I bet she loved that snake, too.
I'd forgotten all about Laverne, you totally should wear an S on all your clothes.
Have a fab weekend. xxx
Thank you, Vix! Yes, the little one was quite excited by everything. I think I should definitely get in the S habit (forgot today, though - will have to move my pin into my closet!).
DeleteGah!!!! I adore those shoes too! Lise
ReplyDeleteI do have a very good shoe collection, Lise! Thank you!
DeleteI would definitely see that as a compliment Sheila! :) You do look so stunning in purple and this is a fun outfit, I can see why your colleague and the little girl were both complimenting you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mica! I took it as a compliment, but I did have to think about it a bit.
DeleteLovely outfit; no surprise it amazes little children. Your influence spreads!
ReplyDeleteKids love my outfits! I'm just a big kid at heart.
DeleteSuch a marvellous outfit to end the week, Sheila! I wouldn't mind being called the purple fairy at all. Love the shoes, and the "S" pin is delightful. Must look out for an "A" pin now ... xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ann! Hee, it's kind of sweet. If I spot an A I'll send it to you.

ReplyDeleteMy students love my snake bangle too, even anything snakeprint gets a gasp of delight! X
I think he did - he's one of my colleagues who loves to see what I'm wearing every day. Ha, I love the image of your students gasping at your jewelry!

Thank you so much! Yes, the dress is amazing to wear.
DeleteYes! wear that "S" with everything my dear purple fairy! How could you not make such an amazing impression in that dress? Italians are the best when it comes to clothing.
ReplyDeleteI totally am going to do that, Lorena. I love this dress and love the quality of it.
DeleteYour Purple Fairy outfit is lovely - I really like that shape of dress on you, and the length shows off your legs.
ReplyDeleteI love a classic fit-and-flare. Must wear another one soon.
DeleteHi -Your outfits inspire me daily and I have a similar taste as you- the dress is amazing! I would totally wear that entire outfit to school. Thank you for posting your outfits- they do truly inspire!
ReplyDeleteI lurk every day but am so in love with the room 502s that I have come out of the crypt...I'm looking at used ones but they are more than the originals because they are out of stock! Before I spend more on shoes than I've spent on clothes the past 10 years (I am a hardcore thrifter) can you tell me if they are wearable? I have trouble with heels- I can't last very long in them. But I don't spend a lot on shoes so maybe expensive ones are comfortable? :)
Hello, czaitz, thank you so much for commenting, and for your very kind words! I'm so glad to inspire you - that's what keeps us bloggers going!
DeleteI think you would not enjoy the heel, to be honest - it is 3 inches, which is as high as I can go. The shoes are comfy, but if you can't do heels, don't do them. Fluevog does some fantastic flats, in some very funky style - YES, expensive shoes are more comfortable!!
Thanks so much for replying- that's very helpful. Yes, I'm about to make a $$ purchase for a nice pair of shoes but they have to be wearable so your input is valuable! I just don't live anywhere near a Fluevog store...Michigan! Thanks again- and I'm Carrie.
DeleteIf you decide to go with Fluevog, they do have a number you can call to speak with one of their experts, who can help you with things like sizing, width and fit. It's worth it if you can't try them on. Good luck with your new shoes, Carrie, and super-great to meet a reader. Don't be a stranger. ;-P
