A Day for Leather Pants

Oh, my friends, today was "a day". You know that kind, the "I'm having a day" kind of day? Yup, it was A DAY.
I figuratively hit my head on my desk a few times, mentally rolled my eyes pretty darned hard, and took deep breaths. And reminded myself, I'm wearing leather pants! That just fills me with glee.

  • Cardigan - Sparkle & Fade, swap from Sarah; last worn here in December 2018 with black and sequins
  • Sweater - Jean Paul Gaultier, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) for brunch in September 2018
  • Leather jeans - Gap, 2001, vintage store, Vancouver; last worn here for my birthday in October 2018
  • Booties - Coffee Kope Tiam, Fluevog; last seen here in January with casual sequins
  • Leather trenchcoat (below) - vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn on Friday here

Despite the little things that can drive me crazy (gah! people!), I do love my job and my coworkers are awesome. Plus, the fact that I can wear this get-up to work? Bonus.
I was shocked to see that this is the first wear this season for my JPG ribcage sweater - I usually bust it out around Hallowe'en. So many clothes, so little time!

I am undecided if I will keep all of my long cardigans (all four of them) out for the next season, or just a few.
This rust one is very autumnal.

Real face - I'm loaded up on cold medication still. Just keep going...
I'm always relieved when these leather jeans fit me. They are unforgiving!

Outerwear - it's only slightly warmer, so I definitely need my accoutrements still.
 Coat weather remains!

  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Wool gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
Lovely taupe booties. I went Klassy and wore white sport socks in them to keep my toes secure. Pinkie toe is still sore - I really did a number on it, as it's been 2 weeks since I whacked it on the corner of a wall in the dark. The bruising is finally gone, though.

Brassy bling:
I don't wear this anatomical heart necklace very often, but I do enjoy showing people what's in it. It's a locket! Interested in what pictures L put in there? Check it out here for a laugh (pics at the bottom of that post).

  • Heart locket necklace - local, gift from L
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
  • Earrings - vintage fair
  • Eelskin bangle - faux Gucci, c. 1987, gift from Mom & Dad
  • Silver/gold cuff - JPL, vintage fair

    1. Thanks, Vix! I'm hugely appreciative of my work environment. That's no t-shirt - it's a fine merino sweater!

      Yay, drugs!

  3. I love your cardigan. I always try to wear a long cardigan or tunic with trousers. I don't think I would look so good as you in leather trousers though!

  5. Glad I'm not the only one who had A DAY, I've had one two days in a row! Like you, I can wear what I want to the office, which I think is utter joy! It makes up for THE DAYS, doesn't it? Love those leather trousers, which look especially fabulous with your leather coat on top. That locket is amazing, and I love the two boyfriends put inside for you ;-) xxx

  9. I had one of those days this week when I could NOT WAIT to get home where there is only my cat, and no other people! (GAH! People! is absolutely correct). I've had to give up all my leather pants because I grew out of them :( At least one pair went to Melanie so she is getting some wear out of them. Love that heart pendant.

  11. I think this top could go with yesterday's skirt, no? For a pretty different feel. I loved the way you wore it yesterday, fantastic - I'm pretty sure you have other fitted tops that could vary on that theme. And perhaps a short or cropped fitted jacket could go with the skirt - if it looks top-heavy it could probably be balanced by big boots. xx

    1. Hey, that's a thought! Thanks, Radostin! Yes, I think a cropped jacket might work, and I like the idea of big boots with it!

  12. We must count our blessings that we can wear what we want to work and have this wonderful mode of self expression. I fancy that the day would have been much, much worse if you hadn't been wearing such a funky outfit! The rib top is fab, the trousers oh-so-sexy (and yes unforgiving, but hey they still fit!) and the cardi is a lovely security layer adding the snuggle appeal - fab get up!

    1. I don't wear it that often - it's very heavy and bounces off my boobs.
