Plaid and a Cat-Bomber

We have a VIP in the office today and tomorrow, so I'm classin' it up outfit-wise.
Toning down the colour, but upping the WOW factor with these fabulous plaid pants.

  • Blazer - Helmut Lang, thrifted; first worn here in February with a sheer skirt
  • Sweater - consignment, no label, not tracked
  • Pants - Pariscope, vintage, thrifted; last seen here in January with tweed (and cat-bombed!)
  • Booties - London; last worn here in October with heavy metals
  • Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last seen here in October

Still shopping my closet - I already know I love all of this stuff.
"Woman, you are getting in my picture."

I had a cat-bomber this morning for my pictures. Hello, Vizzini.

I adore this olive knit viscose blazer by Helmut Lang. Gads, look at those lovely shoulders. This piece is so beautifully-made, far nicer than anything you could find in stores now.
"Are you still blathering on? What about me?"

I unpicked the pockets today so I could jam my hands in them. I mostly wore the sleeves scrunched up too.

I knew when I bought it this past summer that I would wear it with these trousers. They were made for each other!
"I'm just going to sit here until you pick me up."

The trousers are very high-waisted with not a lick of stretch in them. Ah, the days before Spandex!

Outerwear - it was a lovely autumn day. This was all just right.
I'm looking at a weekend that feels far away...

  • Scarf - gift from Mom
  • Gloves - Danier Leather

The stuff:
These boots did not like the trousers - the high bit at the back of the ankle kept grabbing the hem of the pants. It drove me nuts. Mental note for next time I wear either piece - not together!

Gold bling:
I get a kick out of wearing Frida Khalo, Givenchy and a leather anatomical heart together. Mix it up!

  • Bronze cuff - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Brass cuff - thrifted
  • Necklace - vintage 80s Givenchy, vintage fair
  • Leather heart pin - Smoking Lily
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage expo
  • Jade/brass ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl

Vizzini got his wish.
"Was that so hard?"
I always have time for a cuddle.

  1. Shopping your closet eh? I'll keep rewinding to find out more... In the meantime, yes my dear, that jacket and those trousers are happily wedded aren't they? Lovely shade of green, that jacket and fits you like a glove, what a great purchase. Annoying about the trouser and boot conflict especially when you only discover that at work!

    Have a good week!

  3. Love it! I adore plaid pants. The jacket is divine and fits you perfectly. Love the boots, too bad they didn't work with the pants.

GAh! The catching the trouser leg in the boot thing is very annoying - better luck next time. xxx

  6. I love the blazer and pants together, you were right they work so well! I like when you try an outfit idea out and it works out better or just as good as expected - sometimes mine are a bit of a fail! Always fun to try come up with new combos in my wardrobe though! :)

  8. Love those tartan trousers, and yes, your bum does look great in it. Shame about the trouser grabbing boots, though. I hated it when this happened when I was still wearing trousers on a regular basis. Naughty Vizzini, he could at least have faced the other way round ;-) xxx

    1. Hee hee! Is it wrong of me to mention it? I feel like I have to take it where I can get it!

I loathe when pants get grabby like that. ARG.

Vizzini poses for no one but himself.

    1. Thanks, Shelley! We've been picking Vizzini up since he was a kitten, getting him used to being handled and giving him "forced lovin'". It's taken a long time, but he likes it now!

  12. Great plaid pants... and the mix of accessories is quite intersesting. The Kahlo heart is a winner.

    1. Thanks! The heart isn't Kahlo - she's on the top cuff.
