Just as L and I find out we've been battling the actual flu ("it's a nasty one," said the doctor at the walk-in clinic), here comes my every 6 month trip to the periodontist. Oh, YAY.
Dressed for the occasion: Yellow for bravery, indigo blue velour for comfort (and KLASSINESS), and flats for not falling down afterwards with a face full of freezing.- Blouse - Guess, consignment, Sidney; last worn here in May for Jeans Week
- Purple camisole - not tracked
- Skirt - Sonia Rykiel, thrifted; first worn here in June with pink and stripes
- Shoes - Karl Lagerfeld; last seen here (briefly in July for after-work shopping, but in an actual outfit here (2nd outfit) in May with yesterday's skirt
The day flew by, as I scrambled to deal with all the chaos at work, prep for tomorrow morning, eat my lunch and then leave at 1:30pm to catch my bus. I have to get there early for my "happy pill" to calm my anxiety about actually being at the freaking periodontist for 2 hours of tooth-scaling.
I'm always frozen up to the gills/eyeballs too. That's starting to wear off...
There's a good shot of the purple tiger on my blouse. Rar!
I loved wearing this soft skirt again - it's a nice length. Perfect for sitting in the dentist chair (they gave me a blanket, isn't that nice?).
It's all about the yellow. Don't look at the sick, tired, and mouth-sore lady!
Happy overall with this outfit.
The stuff:
Another good summer for these lovely leather flats.
Matchy bling:
First wearing of this leather/metal cuff (which you can't even see in the pictures).
- Cuff - thrifted for $5.95 here - first wearing
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Amethyst/gold ring - Frances Jewellers, c. 1965, Dad's
- Earrings - c. 1997?
Vizzini was hovering while I did my pictures this morning.

You look amazing--I love the yellow! Flu & tooth scaling. What a winning combo... I hope you're feeling 100% soon!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Becky! Getting there...
DeleteHope you are feeling better Sheila. Velour seriously is the best, i still have several velour tracksuits for cozy house days on the couch.
ReplyDeleteLove the purple and yellow together. Kailani's comment was the shoes are like banana's - haha
Thank you so much, Trisha and Kailani! I'm a fan of velour, for sure. Hee, I shall now call these my banana shoes.
DeleteBattling summer flu (which they say is the nastiest variety) plus a visit to the periodontist. Oh dear, I really feel for you. Hurray for yellow and happy pills! And cats, obviously ;-) Hope you're starting to feel a bit better, my dear. Sending healing vibes just in case! xxx
ReplyDeleteIt really is the worst flu, isn't it? Yuck! Hooray for yellow and cats, not necessarily in that order! Thank you for the vibes, Ann!
DeleteHere’s to both of you feeling better and knocking the flu off Island! And to a full mouth recovery. :) You are the ONLY person I know who manages to dress nicely for any form of dentistry!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Laurie! Getting there, getting there. I always dress up - don't you know that by now? ;-P
DeleteI like the purple and yellow together and I'm impressed you were able to pull yourself together to face the dentist even after being unwell! I got the flu this summer (start of the year) and it was HORRIBLE. Hope you recover from everything and get a good rest tonight!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mica! I just do it - I don't think about it to much. I hate being sick, lots of naps in my future!
DeleteYou look very beautiful in this wonderful combination of mustard and purple. The blouse is beautiful. What on earth are you doing going to the dentist while you are still sick? You look very stunning for a sick lady. Please take care of yourself!
ReplyDelete❤️❤️❤️
Elle
I'm nearly over being sick, Elle - only a few more days and I'll be right as rain, I'm sure. Thank you so much.
DeleteSorry 'bout your twice-a-year experience. I have to go FOUR times a year.
ReplyDeleteSo, twice as awful!
DeleteSorry to hear that you guys have been struggling with flu - you must feel lousy! And then the dental visit too, just to add insult to injury! Poor you. Am back in the loop again trying to catch up with all my blogging friends so just wanted to say HI and I'll pop over again this weekend to catch up on more from you.
ReplyDeleteTake care,
Anna x
Mostly better now, Anna, thank you! Thanks for visiting - no worries, I know you are busy. :)
DeleteWell you look so good Sheila, that I would have not guessed you had just overcome such a yucky flu.
ReplyDeleteI have to go to the dentist too, I don´t mind going, but I am sooo busy that I have to find time.
Thanks, Lorena - I decided not to whine about being sick this time, ha ha! I have to take care of my teeth - I have issues.
DeleteSorry for all the anxiety and freezing, but at least, you look fabulous and I love all the yellow and purple and the soft velour skirt and the cute matching bling!
ReplyDeletebesos
Thanks, Monica! Aw, you're so sweet.
DeleteYuck! What a crappy start to your week! Hope you are completely flu-free by now.
ReplyDeleteYup, all better! Thank you!
