It's cooled off considerably in the last 24 hours - it might even rain this weekend! - which gave me the opportunity today to wear something slightly less summery.
- Blouse - Emporio Armani, thrifted; purchased here for $72.95
- Skirt - Holt Renfrew, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here in April with black leather
- Shoes - Elegant Conversations Kendra, Fluevog; last worn here in June with creams and greens
- Jacket (below) - Holt Renfrew, vintage 90s, last worn here in the same outfit as the skirt
I built the outfit around this new-to-me super-swanky Emporio Armani (KLASSY) blouse that I bought on the weekend.
If you're having trouble figuring out what colour this is, here you go:
My nearly-menopausal right armpit (never the left one, oddly) decided to gush near the end of the day - thankfully, it did not turn the blouse dark. I hate when that happens to wet fabric.
The colour is distorting here - these really are matching reds!
- Belt - vintage 60s, Mom's
- Necklace - vintage 80s, Grandma J's
- Earrings - thrifted
This coming weekend is a long one for us in BC - we have Monday off, woo hoo! I will be back then with tales of adventure and a bigass weekend wrap-up for you. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!
That blouse is such fun to look at. The waterfall of ruffles keeps the eye searching and ends up discovering even more details! EA knows what they are doing!ReplyDelete
I appreciate your candor in revealing your sweating habits. We all have funny things like that. Mine: most of my arm hair fell out during my second pregnancy (has this happened to anyone else?!) but one hair grew extra long, amongst the stumps. I call him Harry.
Mel-Bee, You made me laugh out loud I too have a “pet” strand, but never named him. Mine is on my chest! Grows extremely long, and is gossamer like silky. Thankfully, he’s of a very light translucent color and not too noticeable to others, I think. I pluck him when I think of it.Delete
Sheila, your blouse is just lovely. You are going to get lots of outfits with it, and I can tell you feel good wearing it.
Mel-Bee, thank you so much! It's even more glorious in person.Delete
Oh, gawd, yes. Get used to it, as the ol' menopause looms for me! I have one really long eyebrow hair that suddenly appears, even though I groom my brows constantly. It's like, POOF! It's there.
I LOL'd at Harry!
Amie, thank you - yes, I'm really excited to incorporate it into my fall/winter wardrobe (it's a little too warm for spring/summer, really).Delete
I love the blouse with the red suede suit, such a fun combo. It's a shame the blouse gapes as it looks so pretty and fun to wear!ReplyDelete
Enjoy your upcoming long weekend!
Thanks, Mica! I know, WTF is up with gaping on a blouse of this quality!??Delete
Happy weekend to you, my dear!
This is indeed a classy outfit! The blouse is gorgeous. I wash all my silk blouses by hand too, and they do just fine.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Linda! Yes, that whole dry cleaning thing is so over-cautious.Delete
The blouse looks even better on! I hear you on the gaping buttons, though, they are quite a nuisance. I love how the ruffles are peeking out from your jacket, and with the pearls and white bling, this makes an elegant, yet quirky look! Love it! Re:menopausal gushings, strangely enough my armpits seems to be the least sweaty parts of my body! xxxReplyDelete
I know - when it fit so well, I just had to have it, regardless of the expensive price. Thanks so much, Ann!Delete
Ugh, I hate my armpits at times.
You look fantastic in this wonderful skirt and so elegant blouse! And those shoes! Wow. Enjoy your long weekend!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Nancy!Delete
Gorgeous silk blouse. It's been raining here all week & def too hot for those fabrics now---August!ReplyDelete
Thanks, Becky! It's gotten hotter now here - I wouldn't dream of these fabrics this week!Delete
I think your outfit is Fabulous !!! The red skirt and jacket goes so well with your blouse ! Best wishes Sheila xReplyDelete
Thank you so much, Lesley!Delete
You look fabulous, I love the ruffled blouse and the super snazzy suede skirt and jacket.ReplyDelete
Have a wonderful long weekend, Sheila! xxx
Thank you, Vix!Delete
You look totally gorgeous in this striking outfit! What a sumptuous combination of red suede and mauve silk .ReplyDelete
The chain belt adds a lot as well and the printed pumps are stunning. This is truly magnificent. I also wash my silk blouses and I have never had a problem.
Enjoy the weather!
Aw, thank you so much, Elle! It washed beautifully!Delete
I am melting just looking at you! We've had three days with the humidex hovering around 40 degrees and at this point I can't bear to leave my apartment. I want to wear real clothes again!ReplyDelete
Yup, it's gotten hotter out here (not that hot, though!).Delete
Check you out ! I really like how you layered the pearl necklace here and that you wore this blouse almost immediately... i should learn from you.ReplyDelete
I do not know if i said it but I think you rock that bang.
I don't like waiting to wear new things - it's always good to wear them right away and find out if they're going to work or not.Delete
Oh so freaking good!! I love this outfit. Best without the jacket, but I get you want a jacket as well. The shoes.. I am drooling over the shoes. That is what you do so well, and it is the area where I suck: you have modern shoes with a skirt or a dress. Not in a million years would I have considered these shoes and they are so good. I need you here in Holland to go shoe shopping with me. Hang on, I need to go to Canada as we don’t have Fluevog.ReplyDelete
I agree - it needs a slimmer line jacket over it anyway. Those shoes are still available at Fluevog - and now that you have a store, go get them!Delete
You made it so hard! I looked online and they still had my size. But.... my money is gone plus I swore I was not going to buy any more heels until my Knee is better. I am still having 4 new pairs in my closet, never worn.Delete
