Aug 1st - Outfit #1 - Silk and Dots

Woo! August! This is a very busy month for us socially, so I have a lot of fun outfits planned! Starting with...
Polka dotted silk pajama pants! With pale pink dots, pink silk trim on the hem...*swoon* I've had these pants since June 2011 - they were $18.00 at Dots. They're by Noa Noa. Yes, they feel like pajamas!

Edit: just to be clear: these are NOT actually pajama pants. They are trouser-cut, with a fly and button. They're properly constructed (no elastic waistband), just like a pair of dress pants. Except for the polka dots. That's distinctly pajama-ish.

I last wore them in September 2011 (here). I found them challenging to style, so hopefully this month I'll be able to stretch myself creatively and make some fun outfits with them.

I really liked how this cherry-red silk blouse looked against the navy blue - I think it brings out the pink more than matching with a pink top as I've done previously.
I also have a pink cami on under the blouse (not part of the capsule) to hide any skin, since I tied the blouse at my waist. I thrifted the blouse here in May for $5.00. It's from the early 90s when washable silk blouses were all the rage (I had a black one back then, which I wore until it fell apart).

I've only worn these shoes once before: here (2nd outfit), for my birthday party last year, in October 2011. Eee! My birthday is coming!
The shoes are by Coach - I got them last September on final clearance at the Bay for $29.99, regular $169.99.

I love the gold slight crackle finish of the leather.
I can't stand all day in them, but they were very comfortable for the office.

Check out the 90s vintage-y label.
Of course, I wore my Wendy B ring, as well as my "Death Star" ring.

Oh, and feathers.
Mustn't forget the feathers. I also wore a feather pendant on a chain, but the pendant is cheap junk that was discolouring, so I tossed it.

Blouse (Elite International, thrifted), pants (Noa Noa), cami (Jackpot), shoes (Coach), ring (Wendy Brandes), other ring (Stone Flower), earrings (local).

  1. I like the red top with the pajama bottoms. I wish I could wear PJ bottoms as pants..but being short and curvy, I just look clownish! On you...they're classy.

  3. Sheila, those are beautiful pants, and I agree with Ianiza and Lisa above - they do look like pjs but you can pull this look off. That is definitely a sign of superior style :)

I am in love with your feather earrings.
