Not much time today, as we're off to the early showing of the new Batman movie. Cool!
All new-to-me stuff making its first appearance, except for the green knit tank. It's by Harve Bernard and it was thrifted for $6.00 back in October. I first wore it here, during one of Megan's "This or That" challenges, and last time was here, back in January. I'm happy to be able to wear it in warmer weather!Over the years, I've thrifted quite a bit of good quality clothing with no labels. In those cases, I have to give my clothes a name, otherwise I can't find when I last wore them. When I first posted this skirt, I named it the "paint splatter skirt". And lo, here is when I purchased it in May for $13.50.
This skirt is actually the jumping off piece for much of this month's colours; aside from white, it has burgundy, red, pink, green, lime, yellow, blue and purple in it! It didn't wrinkle, it was cool and flowy and I felt very girly in it. Some guy said, "Nice outfit," to me at a crosswalk today. Yay!
The cardigan is more troublesome for naming. I think I will call it the "snow white" cardigan.
I bought it here on a shopping expedition in June for $22.00 from My Sister's Closet.
The shoes were bought here for $25.00. They were also quite comfortable for wearing all day, even for a walk to my tattoo artist's studio.
Cardigan (no label, consignment), top (Harve Bernard, thrifted), skirt (no label, thrifted), shoes (Miz Mooz, consignment), belt (Plum), ring (gift from Cindy).
Look what I got in the mail!
Thanks so much for the sweet little bee pin, Megan! And I love the black keys - I know I'll be able to use them for something steampunk-y!
I love those shoes with that skirt. They do look quite comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYesterday you and I both wore polka dots. Today you and Megan M both wore green tops. Freaky. =)
Lol, we're synched up!
DeleteThe red shoes are fab-arific! And so's the paint splatter skirt. Such a cheery outfit, Sheila - you look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteToday I've seen so many great shoes and purses on other bloggers, including these great red wedges on you, that I know I am going to have sweet and fashionable dreams tonight. So funny that Megan sent you a bee pin. I sent her a vintage marcasite beetle pin I'd had since college last month :P I know you guys are fond o' your bugs :)
ReplyDeleteSuper outfit! Just love that skirt!
ReplyDeleteEee, love that skirt. It's such a fun print and works with the Miz Mooz shoes perfectly.
ReplyDeleteYay! I am so glad you finally got your little bee! I wish it had been there for your "bee" look the other day, but maybe it'll work its way into another look.
I hope you can do something with the keys, I thought they could work with some of your more steampunk outfits.
Thanks! I love the little bee, and I'll be wearing him soon - maybe with my beetle brooch! I might actually use the keys on a picture I want to frame.
DeleteGORGEOUS skirt!! i love the whole outfit!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the shoes--WOW!!!
Love your red shoes! They are amazing!! I like the greens and reds in your entire outfit, it's a great combination!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun mail from Megan too! :)
Love that skirt! Hope your summer is going well...
ReplyDeleteI am hoping that we can do another thrift shopping expedition, perhaps later in the summer when we need to gear up our Fall wardrobes!
Sounds great, Lesley! Early September would be good for me - I'll drop you an email.
DeleteSheila: Great shoes, but I am beginning to realize that you have to have a 'stash' of items, because some colours just do not show up that often, but when they do, like today's skirt and shoes - it is terrific. Peg - UI
ReplyDeletePeg, I have a LOT of clothes, and I've been slotting them into colour themes for upcoming capsules. That's why you haven't seen some of these things before - I've either been saving them or just haven't worn them in a while.
DeleteLove this outfit! The skirt is fabulous and I really like how the heel part of the shoe is a little funky and unexpected. It's very pretty from the front and a little surprise from the side. Robyn at Robyn's Nest
ReplyDeleteoh, tantalising (spelling?) -a walk to the tattoo artist? planning stages or will there be a big reveal soon? have a lovely weekend
ReplyDeletePlanning trip to the tattoo artist or work being done?
ReplyDeletehave a lovely weekend :-)
Hee, I know, very tantalizing, isn't it? I'm having my salamander re-done to match the crow on the other side of my back. It's happening next weekend, so I'll have a reveal then.
DeleteI really like the skirt and belted cardi together! Lovely outfit :)
ReplyDelete"This skirt is actually the jumping off piece for much of this month's colours;..." Happy news! that skirt of yours is a favorite of mine, the colors, pattern, everything. It's a perfect choice for august, too - the white background cools down the intense colors nicely for hot temps. Beautiful look and those shoes.....i am struck dumb.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck at the tattooer's!! impeccable timing on your part - the 7,000th amphibian was just discovered in Peru!
