L and I are headed out this evening to the opening of a new whisky bar downtown. I'm going to wear the same outfit - I had planned to change, but now I don't feel like it. Besides, this is ultra-comfy.
This is my floral blouse (last worn here), and that purple skirt is actually my purple dress (last seen here, as part of my travel mini-capsule). Did I fool you? I don't think I've ever worn so many dresses as under-layering pieces before this month! I've done it at least 3 times so far.I'm also wearing a blue sheer netting skirt under the dress to add a bit of extra length for work, as this dress is a little short/casual for work usually.
My purple-grey ballet flats (last seen here, 2nd outfit) have broken in nicely - they were awesome for shopping all day last weekend, by the way.
This outfit is pretty much a copy of this one here, only with a different dress, but you know? That doesn't bother me one iota.
Blouse (Esprit, consignment), dress (Lady Dutch, consignment), underskirt (Noa Noa), belt (Landes, thrifted), shoes (Chie Mihara), necklace (Foxy), earrings (Aldo Accessories).
Why change when you're perfectly comfortable/glamorous/ sexy?!! I wouldn't. Whiskey bar, huh?
ReplyDeleteThis blouse works beautifully with both dresses! I love the romantic / ethereal touch the net under-skirt adds.
ReplyDeleteLove it a million times over!
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous you're going to a whiskey bar. I'm just going to plain ol' bed :P
ReplyDeleteI love how you turn dresses into skirts and add longer layers underneath - and still look tall. I can never pull off looking tall...lol.
Cool, a Whiskey Bar! We have one of those hear in Belltown in Seattle. I was so lame, I went in there my first time and ordered a shot of Jameson. Doh! Probably one of the most generic whiskeys in there. I think I was overwhelmed at all the choices.
ReplyDeleteI love purple grey! I just recently bought a new nail polish you might be interested in. It's Revlon Mischievous. Beautiful purple grey..mostly grey.
That blouse has proven to be quite versatile. Usually I'm not a fan of florals, but it's got the right balance of color and print size that makes it a beautiful blouse. Really glad the shoes held up for shopping.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit. Good for the opening too, although by the end of the night, being a whiskey bar, probably everyone will be too bleary-eyed to notice what anyone's wearing! I hope you had fun...
ReplyDeleteVery lovely! I love the netting skirt that is poking out underneath!
ReplyDeleteA whiskey bar sounds awesome! Hope it was fun!
I love it!! If you hadn't told us we'd have never known that wasn't a purple skirt!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the shoes have broken in because they are really CUTE!!
Completely fooled by the dress being a skirt. With a whiskey bar, do you just order in shots until you can't stand?! I need to try that.
ReplyDeleteThis will be perfect for going from work to a whiskey bar...I want to hear all about it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea to add length I need to do something like that. I just got in a new japanese pattern book and they have a pattern to make like a wrap tulle skirt that you can do the same with they show it under a dress or actually it ties almost like a wrap skirt and they wore it over the dress to! I may have to make something like this. You look really pretty ~Have fun!! ~Love Heather
ReplyDeleteHey cutie! Layering over a dress is a great way to add versatility to our wardrobes without buying more separates and if no one is the wiser all the better!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your August wrap up and September choices.
