An Early Spring?

Sorry for not being around much to all your fab blogs lately - it's Oscar season, which means we're trying to see as many Oscar-nominated movies as possible, so my time for leisurely browsing around and commenting is limited. Last night we saw "Inglourious Basterds" and tonight we saw "Crazy Heart".

Anyway, I was in a rush today:
Zoom! Home in time to take one picture! I felt very spring-y today in yellow and green. The cardi is new, part of the free haul from the consignment store on the weekend. It's a silk and cotton blend.

The stuff:
Fluevogs, tweed, flowers and funky necklace.

And look, my Christmas cactus is blooming!
It's one of the few plants I have managed not to kill.

Cardigan (BCBG Max Azria, consignment), top (Planet), skirt (unknown brand, thrifted), shoes (Fluevog, gift from L), necklace (Caracol, gift from L).

  1. I LOVE Fluevogs. I don't have any, but one day :) I love the yellow!

  2. I tried to watch "Inglorious Basterds" but had to stop about 20 minutes in. It was just too gory for me. How did you like it?

  3. Very cute, like the cardi! I am very jealous of your christmas cactus also! I had one and killed it =( I love having plants in the house but can never seem to remember to keep them watered, soooo they die. I do have some type of spidery palm something or other that is about 4 years old so I am quite proud of that one!

  5. I didn't see Inglorious Basterds in the theater because everyone said how gory it was but I saw it on TV very recently and loved it! I regretted not seeing it in the theater!

  6. I loved Inglorious Basterds... that Tarantino never stops to amaze me.
Seems like it's getting warmer there...or maybe are you wishing it were warmer ?

  7. Oh, cool! That cactus is beautiful. Do your cats mess with it? I'd like to keep some houseplants around but one of my cats seems to want to chew on anything new I bring into the house.

  9. You have such a great shoe collection. I've never purchased Fluevogs - do you find them thrifted usually, or is your hubby always this generous? :) Beautiful!

  10. Julia, me too! I can't get enough of them.

Couture, I liked it, but I didn't love it. Of course, with Tarantino, the first time you see his movies it's always a shocker. I find his movies need a couple of viewings before I can fully appreciate them.

Thanks, Tina! I am horrible at watering my plants too. It's survival of the fittest. Cacti are great for people like us!

Sal, oh no way! I'm wearing nude microfishnets. It's warm but not THAT warm.

Wendy, I wish I'd seen it in the theatre too. Tarantino's movies are always gory.

I love his movies too, Lorena - as I said to Couture above, I think I need to see this one again to fully appreciate it. We're experiencing a break from our usual rainy February, it's so lovely out!

Thanks, Suz! No, my cats aren't interested in the plants, but I keep this one up on the computer desk next to my monitor.

K, these are very hardy cacti - very tough to kill, haha! I know, isn't it a sweet cardi? Thanks!

Kari, thank you! No, you almost never see Fluevogs on consignment or thrifted. I get all mine new - it's totally worth it. Heh, we always buy each other a pair - his are more expensive than mine!

  11. Like the other Tina, I love Christmas cacti. We always had one growing up, and I remembering shoving it inthe closet at Thanksgiving in order to get it to bloom at Christmas. Sadly, I've never had much luck with them as an adult. I think I might go hunt one down to try again, though. They're so pretty.
