A Spring in my Stair

I felt very spring-y in this. The plum and cherry blossoms are out, the daffodils are starting to bloom, and it's warm (and sometimes rainy). Ah...I love this time of year!
I've done the top half of this outfit before here, and I've worn this skirt a kazillion times.

It's getting a little big on me in the hips, however, as I've been working out hard lately, and really trying to focus on eating healthy and not mindlessly putting food in my mouth to deal with stress. I missed my Weight Watchers meeting last week (um, I may have been hungover from Ronnie's birthday party), so I'm hoping to see a good result this week. I've been really struggling the last year to maintain my weight at 50-55 pounds down from my start weight 3.5 years ago...10 pounds crept back on and I actually briefly popped above my goal weight about a month ago. Bad stuff.

But I've recently added stairs to my "lazy girl" workouts (in addition to my "pee push-ups" and my walking as transportation 4 days a week to and from work), and I've really felt results. I will have thighs of iron! Butt of steel! Hamstrings of...um...I don't know! But I did 7 sets of stairs (63 up and down = 1 set) today, and my legs are tired.

Anyway, get it? A "spring" in my "stair"? Ha!

The stuff:
My lovely flowery blouse, plaid vest and pearls. The shoes are fab and I always feel very powerful when I wear them, not sure why.

A close-up of the jewelry:
My little vintage mink brooch, cheapo earrings, and the pendant, which is REAL pearl. Mom brought me that back from Australia - that's what happens when pearls grow into the side of the oyster instead of forming round globules. It's set in 18K white gold. So pretty.

Vest (Vero Moda), blouse (Kaliko, consignment), skirt (Talbot's, consignment), shoes (Seychelles, consignment), brooch (50s? vintage, thrifted), earrings (Aldo Accessories), pendant (gift from Mom).

  2. It's really hard to identify with the "spring" in your stair and/or wardrobe! The wicked wind is whipping in a very un-springlike way as I comment :(

You have built a great early spring look here! Maybe if I'd built it, it would come here, too????

  3. I love those shoes of power!!

Yeah, like WendyB, we just got a good dump of snow in TO , after sailing through most of this winter bare. Spring not so much but it must be coming soon cause I'm thinking sandals.

  4. No spring here. :(

Those shoes are great! Perfect for spring/summer with bare legs or nude fishnets. They make your legs look a mile long.

  5. Now THOSE are the kind of nude heels I can get behind!

And I believe you will end up with hamstrings of titanium. ;)

  7. Aw, that's so sad, Wendy. I will send you sweet cherry-blossom-scented air.

Thanks so much, closet! I really appreciate your comment - thank you!

Sorry, Rebecca! It was chilly and windy today if that makes you feel any better! If you wish for spring, eventually it will come! :)

Thanks, Northmoon! Aw, the east coast is really getting a beating. I hope it ends soon!

Kasmira, you too? Aw, that sucks. Thanks so much - I love these shoes and really haven't worn them enough.

Sal, same here - I really loathe the peachy-nude ones, especially the patent ones. Blech. Heh, titanium, that's it!

Ianiza, thank you so much for commenting!

  8. We WILL get back to goal weight as long as we keep on plugging away! I added doing wall pushups while I am stretching after my run, in honor of you. I want some nice guns for the summer!

Love that springy outfit, and the shoes are divine. I am definitely adding a nude heel to my collection this year.

  9. Yes! That's the spirit! I'm going for my weigh-in in about an hour...fingers crossed!

Good for you on the pushups! You will definitely notice a difference.

Thanks so much, Kristen! I like these nude shoes because they aren't *quite* nude.
