Apr 3rd - Outfit #2 - Not On Theme

Today's outfit is full of colour, but not really much in the way of my theme for the month:
No pink. No purple. No yellow (although the shoes are quite a marigold/orange/Kraft Dinner shade).

This top is new-to-me - it was $20 on consignment a few weeks ago. It's sheer, so I have to wear a camisole underneath.

And yes, those are leather pants, and yes, I wore them all day at work! They have a story (here, if you haven't seen them before).

I last wore the pants here.
I had a lot of questions about the leather pants today: Aren't they hot? (No, leather breathes wonderfully) Aren't they stiff to wear? (No, leather conforms to your body)

If you're going to go for the leather look, don't do the fake stuff. It's stinky, it's sweaty and it looks cheap and tawdry.

The shoes were lovely and comfortable all day.
I last wore them here.

I also wore my cicadas:
And my faux Gucci bracelet from the 80s.

Blouse (Esprit, consignment), cami (InWear), pants (Gap, thrifted), shoes (Tsubo), earrings (Erica Weiner), bracelet (faux Gucci, 80s, gift from Mom and Dad from Italy).

  2. Great outfit. I'm with you all the way...Only real leather will do. No plastic, unbreathable materials for me. I love to wear leather to the office and see the reactions!:)

  6. It may not be matchy, but I can see the remix potential with the rest of your theme. I think the shape of the blouse is very flattering and a good purchase imo. I think you'll get some mileage out of remixing it.

Also I am crushing hard on those leather pants. Leather is an awesome material. It's a toss up between leather and wool for my favorite material. Faux-leather on the other hand. No. I deeply regret wasting money on a faux-pair when I couldn't find a pair in my price point. Sweaty and gross.

  7. The shoes are an amazing color. In my thrifting, I've passed up some many pair of leather pants, but I think after seeing you in these that I had better try on a pair. DH will want a bike as a result though.

  10. I love those pants so hard. They look so soft - not stiff like the leather pants I've seen before. What an interesting past life they had! (and I say "cat fud" too. Yes, I know you're surprised.)

Leather pants also remind me of when Ross on Friends wore a pair on a date and after using the bathroom he couldn't pull them back up over his legs. His must have been Pleather!

    1. Megan, they *are* soft, and they get softer the more I wear them.

Totally not surprised that you say "cat fud."

Ha, yes, I remember that episode - no way leather would have been that hard to get on.
