This is the Murder Mystery Dress - it has four repeating panels with mysterious words, like "Somewhere in Morocco..." It's all very Agatha Christie.
You can visit a close-up of the panels and print here (scroll way down) from when I first bought it.
This beauty stays out in my closet all year round, and yet...it has no pockets and the dreaded White Reverse on the back-side of the fabric (kudos to Vix for the term).
I noticed today that it has a bunch of snags in the fabric under one arm - I'm not sure what it's been catching on, but there we go.
Things wear out when you use them, who knew? But I'll keep this in my closet as long as I can.
It always elicits gasps of admiration - colleague Kristina and I had a Mutual Admiration Society going on with our dresses today. Hers was a striped maxi she picked up a WIN. Fabulous!

I was glad of my leather - it's always windy here (from being near the ocean).
Useless pockets for hands, though, but at least I could carry my keys in them. The sleeves were long enough to cover my hands while I walked.

Accoutrements and stuff:
Thematic bling:
And I wore my new-to-me amber spider on the neck of the dress.
Playing off the strange critters on the dress pattern, the scarf print is flies.

That dress is a beauty indeed and well worth keeping in your closet in spite of the lack of pockets and the dreaded white reverse. That belt is a stunner too, and I am positively swooning over your spider (ant) brooch! xxx
ReplyDeleteThe murder mystery dress is stunning! It reminds me - just a little - of this Joanie dress I spotted recently.

First word that sprang to mind was ‘demure’ followed by the name of the book I just finished reading, ‘The Word Is Murder’ by Anthony Horowitz. I’m curious about the dress and couldn’t tell from the photo, does it slip on over your head or have a zipper or some other opening? The answer is probably on the linked page showing the panels!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie
It's over the head with a side zip, Laurie! Thank you!
DeleteDespite the evil white reverse that dress is still a keeper! xxx
ReplyDeleteEver so elegant!!
