This does come with the territory of having a closet full of things that I've had for a while. And some things are meant to be.
- Blouse - BCBC Max Azria, consignment, Sidney; last worn here in June 2023...with this same skirt!
- Skirt - The Limited, thrifted; last seen here...with this same top! in June 2023
- Sandals - Neosens; last worn here in June with an all-chartreuse outfit
- Leather jacket (below) - Maison Rabih Kayrouz, thrifted, Vancouver; last seen here in April
I don't recall ever doing a repeat on the same two pieces in a row, though.
This yolk-yellow top (with purple tigers, rar!) is probably from the early 00s, and it's one of my favourites. It's taken me till August to get around to wearing it, tsk.I Flashbacked it here in June 2021 and have worn it 9 times in total over 7 years.
It's still a keeper, but the purple pleated skirt is not.

"Noooooo! Whyyyyyy?" I hear you! It has All The Features - colour, Swoosh Factor 8, washable, pleats.
But it's...not me right now. A previous version of me would have swooned (I still do a bit! It's really swooshy!), but current me is "MEH." Off you go to Limbo!

Incognito, and smirking, having just realized as the camera shutter clicked...
...that I had changed my shoes before taking the picture. Oh well, these are what I walk in to work these days, a pair of Fluevogs that I bought for $99.00 on consignment a couple of years ago. I've worn them for walking for at least 5 months, so I must be near a dollar per wear. They are still in great shape too - Fluevogs are built to last.

The stuff:
These sandals were comfy and office-appropriate. We're having wacky weather, with thunder and lightning storms, high and low temps, hot sun...August just can't make up her mind.
Round bling:
I've worn my glass necklace with the purple tiger top before - it was a birthday gift from L 10 years ago, bought in Italy (here, enjoy).- Brass O bracelet - consignment
- Glass necklace/earrings - Venice, gift from L
- Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Gold bangle - thrifted
The purple tigers blouse is stunning, and definitely deserves to come out of your closet more!
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the purple pleated skirt, lovely though it is, is no longer you, so you've got my permission to put it in limbo :-)) It's only normal that our styles evolve. I find myself wearing my 1960s/1970s Diolen frocks less and less but unlike you I can't seem to let them go. xxx
That top is fab, I can't resist a tiger! xxx
ReplyDeleteHa, I thought at first glance that the skirt was a dress because the triangle at the top of the blouse looked like it would be the top of the dress! In any case, I definitely was one of the folks who said - "Noooooo! Whyyyyyy?" Swirl factor, pleats that ARE NOT bulky, fabulous color, good length…BUT I get that tastes change. Jeepers, if I lived in Victoria I would ask to be on your list of friends invited to play in limbo with your pile!
ReplyDeleteThe glass necklace and earrings, and the two rings, are beautiful accompaniments, almost like colorful dewdrops.
Cheers, Laurie
The tiger top is cool. Very fierce!
ReplyDeleteLove that purple skirt and it matches with the purple and yellow top perfectly!
