Theatre Jammy Dress Times Two

Today's outfit required something that I could wear all day, from 7am until 10:30pm - obviously, a Jammy Dress!
Sneaking in a re-wearing of this viscose Jammy Dress before it gets packed away. It's far too thin (and unlined) for cold weather.

  • Dress - Kaffe; first seen here in June
  • Shoes - Truth Luisa; last worn here in February where I said, "Maybe I'll wear them more this spring."
  • Coat (below) - Danier; last seen here in March

I layered a full vintage slip under this and added fishnet tights.
Isn't the pattern great? As are the pockets!

Now this feels good - an A+ Jammy Dress.
After working nearly a full day, I heard I'd someone I saw last week has Covid. Sigh, this world...it's back.

I tested negative after work, and I've had no symptoms, so I saw no reason not to enjoy our first dinner and theatre of the Belfry Theatre season.
I hastily hoofed it down to the Fernwood Inn in this exact outfit. Two wears in one day!

I had a lovely dinner with pals Yvonne, Randall, Cat and Nancy. (I was not Incognito for that part).
And we thoroughly enjoyed "Yaga," the first play (link here 'cause I love, and if you're local, go see it!) of our season's tickets.

The stuff:
I'm so happy to be able to wear these wonderful shoes again - Toe had rebelled against them, but now that Toe is better, they feel comfortable and roomy enough. Plus they match the dress perfectly.

  • Silk bug-print scarf - Smoking Lily, vintage 90s, Mom's
  • Leather studded gloves (not shown) - Danier
  • Red/silver leather purse (not shown, this one here) - Bruno Magli, vintage 80s, consignment

Green bling:
And a pink belt.

  • Belt - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Glass bangle - thrifted
  • Silver/malachite bangle - Mexican, thrifted, Sidney
  • Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
  • Poison ring - Mexican, Karen's
  • Silver/malachite ring - consignment
  • Earrings - vintage 1930s, vintage fair

Are you a live theatre fan? What's the last play you saw?

  1. The last live performance I attended was in July 2022 when I took my granddaughter to a matinee performance of the American Ballet Theatre. Masks and proof of vaccines were required for entry. This was her first time seeing a professional ballet performance and the theatre is quite impressive. A most magical outing for the two of us!

We haven’t been to a show or musical in more years than I can recall!

Now on to your outfit. Being swathed in glorious color and pockets, a win-win for comfort and pizzazz!

    Cheers, Laurie

    1. That sounds lovely, Laurie! I've been to a lot of theatre (musical, drama and concerts), as we plunged in with both feet as soon as we could. It's still a joy to be back.

      Thank you!

    1. I love this dress - I wish the fabric was a bit nicer (it's very thin) but everything else is awesome. Thanks, Nancy!

  3. I love how you picked out the green from your dress for the "stuff", most may have gone for the pink or red. You look fab as always and I must say how much I admire that green bangle I have an almost identical one in blue. I love live theater and before Covid was lucky enough to have a boss who would shout us all to a show. That is now all in my past (sadly) anyway always lovely to see a jammy dress. I think I must get some slips as then my poor dresses would get more outings. Glad you tested negative. Shazx

    1. Thanks, Shaz! I did the purple last time I wore the dress. Oh, what a good boss to do that!
Slips are very hard to find now - I'm so glad I bought a bunch many years ago.

  4. I love that dress! It made me smile. Interestingly enough the last play I saw was Goodnight, Oscar featuring Sean Hayes on a solo trip to New York. I had a wonderful time!

    1. Oh, that sounds like a great time, Pam! I have only seen one performance in NYC, which was "Mama Mia" (which was just okay). Thank you!

  5. I haven't been to the theatre for ages ...
I hate to think that Covid is back, and I'm definitely not ready to put my life on hold for it ever again. Glad you tested negative!
Anyway, your outfit is gorgeous. A fabulous pattern + pockets: it must be the ultimate jammy dress. I'm also swooning over those shoes. How wonderful that Toe is better so that you can wear them again! xxx

    1. I'm not ready for that either, but they are talking about masking mandates again with the cold and flu season coming. Sigh.

Thank you! It's up there. I'm so glad I can wear these shoes again!

  6. The shoes are great with the dress. Glad you didn't catch Covid. It isn't exactly back, it has never been gone. When I get a cold I test as well. So far so good. We oldies (over 60) are getting a repeat vaccination.

    1. I know, it never left! But I've still been lucky to avoid it! As soon as more jabs are available, I'm getting another booster.

    1. I don't consider this a maxi as it doesn't go right to the floor, but thank you, Ivana!
