Flamingos and Windowpane Plaid

Ah, these short weeks always feel so long. Time for some comfort food, in the form of two long-lasting items from my closet, these shoes and the flamingo top.

And trying out these new-to-me windowpane plaid trousers.

  • Top - Scotch & Soda by Maison Scotch, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in May 2022 with more pink
  • Trousers - Akris Punto, consignment; purchased here for $89.99
  • Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last seen here in May with a shiny dress
  • Faux leather coat (below) - Only, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in July

This outfit felt very familiar - I've almost always worn this top with trousers.
This is its 9th wearing - weirdly, it didn't make it into an outfit until now, but I still love it.

The print is flamingos and some kind of fish - it's very tropical looking.
The black and white trim around the neckline inspired me to pair it with these new-to-me trousers, which were awesome.

A good rear view and all of the seams were perfectly lined up.
This is the perfect length on me for a cropped leg.

Showing off the big pockets.
Brr! It was cold this morning.

Incognito.
It was warm and sunny by the time I walked home.

The stuff:
Some of my pointy-toed shoes are getting a hard look - these squished my toes painfully when I had corns. I do still love them, though.

Black and white bling:
Bold pieces and a bunch of finger-party rings.

  • Scarf - thrifted
  • Black and white cuff - vintage, vintage fair
  • Black and white bangles - consignment
  • Earrings - vintage, vintage fair
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Kyanite/silver ring - consignment
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall

  1. Yay for the trousers, they look like they were made for you and I so like the print! As for style with shoes versus comfort for feet…hmm…if I were still teaching then style might have an edge but now comfort definitely wins out.

Am a fan of your black and white bangles and cuff, indeed of your entire outfit including the jacket. Am willing to bet you have other shoes that would work but maybe it’s time for your classic line: always be trading up.

    Cheers, Laurie

    1. I love the trousers, but I'm having a good look at the shoes. They sort of feel like a past version of me, not so much the current version. You're right, I may need an upgrade.

  2. What a great combination of colours and patterns. And how excellent these shoes are with the outfit. Well done.

  3. Sorry, second attempt!
As we're currently experiencing a late heatwave, I'm breaking out in a sweat jus looking at you in your trousers, scarf and faux leather jacket :-) That said, I'm loving the pairing of the black and whites with the pastel-ish pinks and blues! xxx

    1. Our weather's been all over the place - typical pre-fall. Thank you so much, dear Ann!

  4. Laurie's right, those trousers fit you so well. I like the Mod look of the shoes but don't like the sound of the pinchy bit! xxx

    1. Thanks, Vix! Yeah, it might be time to move these pointy-toed beasts along.
