Monday Blue, Brass and Leopard

Woo, my batteries are depleted still from our fest-filled weekend. I was so glad the office was quiet today.
I'm revisiting some of my soft and comforting clothes.

  • Wool cardigan - Ports, vintage 80s, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in March over urban camo
  • Sweater - Judith & Charles, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in December for Christmas at Mom's
  • Trousers - Seductive Pants, consignment; first worn here (2nd outfit) in April with blue bookends
  • Shoes - Yuko Imanishi; last seen here in August with a $1,000 vest

The cream sweater is old - I've had it since 2018 (first worn here) and today is its 20th wearing. I paid $10.50 for it!
It's time to start scouting for a new one, though - this poor wool sweater is wearing out under the arms, and has marks on the front from many of my bigass necklaces.

The cardigan is an all-year-round piece, but I hadn't gotten around to wearing it yet this season (I can tell because it's folded nicely, not shoved in, as worn sweaters tend to get).
This was as comfy as wearing pajamas. The rich blue is one I find very happy-making.

The leopard trousers are so fun. Did you spot the cobalt blue stripe down the sides of the legs?
They have little zips at the ankles (did not undo) and zipped pockets in front.

Here's the outfit without the cardigan, although I didn't take it off. The pants are pull-on, a wide flat elastic waist.
I have a vintage camisole on under the sweater, and it peeped out a few times, as you can see.

I forgot to put my sunnies on for this pic (blergh, Sheila need more coffee....rarrrrr...).
But I buttoned up for the walk to work.

The stuff:
These shoes are softening up nicely.

Brassy bling:
I enjoyed having all those horses galloping around my neck.

  • Silk scarf - French, vintage fair
  • Snake coil bracelet - Whiting & Davis, vintage 70s, vintage fair
  • Blue eelskin bracelet - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Earrings - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Glass and brass necklace/ring - Raphael, vintage 70s, consignment
  • Brutalist ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall

  1. Cozy, comfy and classy, the best outfit combo I can think of, especially when energy needs some assistance. Like you, I am a fan of this most excellent blue color, all the nicer to have it displayed in a long sweater that makes me think of being wrapped in a soothing blanket of warmth.

And three cheers for the designer of the pants for making an elasticized flat waistband that nobody would guess was such. Definitely classy!

    Here’s to a manageable week!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. I so agree, Laurie! When I've got a case of the blergs, I have to be kind to myself when I get dressed. Cobalt blue is a colour that looks good on everyone, isn't it? It did feel like a big ol' blanket.

I know, what awesome pants! No wonder the brand is called Seductive, lol.

  2. I'm not surprised your batteries are still depleted ... I was exhausted just reading your weekend wrap-up :-)
I'm loving this outfit very much, by the way. That shade of blue makes me happy too, and those trousers are an absolute delight! xxx

    1. I do a lot of core exercises to keep my waist trim and keep my back from giving out on me! Under my "squish" I have abs of steel!

    2. So do I. I do a lot of tummy exercises and have done since I was 50, but I still have a belly. The physiotherapist at the time when I started (50) said it had a lot to do with my build. I suppose if you haven't got hips or a bum, the food only has one way to go...forwards.
