PANK and Brocade Boots

Another favourite comes back for a re-wear - my PANK dress.
It's really that bright!

  • Dress - Essentiel Antwerp, consignment; last worn here in April with cowgirl accessories
  • Boots - Jubilee Gladstone, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2022 with pink and blue
  • Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last worn here in April

It's the perfect backdrop for funky tights, cool shoes and a bigass necklace - all of which I've done in the past.
Today, purple tights.

Bigass necklace?
Check!

The dress is a bit on the short side, although longer in the back.
I have a nylon tank top and little sporty shorts underneath.

Incognito.
It was rather warm walking home in this sleeveless coat.

The stuff:
I waffled on these boots. In the morning, I was ready to give them up. By the end of the day, I wholeheartedly embraced them again. The issue? They're really hard to style! However, I am a Boss of Styling, and they are so fun. I do think they are more fall/winter, though.

Bold bling:
I loved how the scarf worked with the PANK dress. The necklace doesn't match at all, but it goes.

  • Silk scarf - Roberto Cavalli, thrifted, Vancouver
  • Necklace - J. Crew, consignment
  • Brass ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
  • Earrings - thrifted

And now, I'm off to get my hair cut! A lovely walk through Fernwood awaits.

  2. The Pank dress is one of my all time favourites Sheila, and you always look great in it. I also adore those boots, I would keep them out all year for those days where it’s hard to pull an outfit together; on those days I would go simple on the garments and just put on those boots - with ANY color - and let them shine for the day (and be my secret armour). Thanks for your efforts here on the vlog xx

    1. It's a winner, Leanne! I love the boots too - and I agree, I should not worry so much about matching and just wear them. Aw, thank you so much for your kind words. It is a lot of work to post this frequently.

  3. Oh the BOOTS! Definitely would work with any jeans, just saying… They look like they’d be comfortable to wear as the heel is a fairly low height to my eye. The color, pattern and material…worth keeping if only worn once in awhile.

    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Jeans, what jeans? You see me in jeans, Laurie? :D Kidding, I would wear them with my white jeans, and they would actually work well with my sparkly denim pant suit that I haven't worn yet. That is a very stable and comfortable heel, definitely.

    1. It's always a joy to wear it, Ann - the colour is vitaminic (as Senora Allnut would say).

  5. I love those boots so much! An olive green leather skirt would be great with them...

    1. What a great suggestion, Maureen, thank you! I've had a hot pink top/sweater on my "must find" list for a long time, just to go with the two pairs (yes, I have two) of shoes in this brocade fabric. I love the idea of olive green to let them pop - I have a knit skirt in that colour, I think.

  6. And just when I thought, what is her hair long! Love the sleeveless coat. And I normally don't like sleeveless jackets or coats. But you wear it so well!

    1. I've had so many hairstyles in the last 15 years, Nancy - I rarely keep one for very long. I don't like sleeveless blazers, but this coat is super-handy at certain times of year when you want to be warm, but not too warm. Thank you!

  7. I am so in love with these boots! I always have been. I'm so glad to hear you'll be hanging on to them. But if you do ever decide to part ways, please know I will give them a good new home :-D That sleeveless coat is such a dream! I'm excited to find one of my own soon...

    1. Thanks, K! Yes, I will hang onto them...maybe not the other pair I have in this fabric, though. Ha ha - do we have the same size feet? Mine are big (size 9.5). Good luck on the sleeveless coat search - I have not seen many out there.

    2. We do have the same size! Sometimes I have to wear 10's (yay, bunion!) and I rarely wear heels anymore so I'm glad you're holding on to these :) There's a great thrift store down in Portland called Red, White & Blue and they tend to have incredible finds. I suspect if I do find a sleeveless coat, it will be here. Next time you're down this way you should check this store out! It's a serious thrift experience. You want to get there right when they open and plan to spend a few hours there to really see everything. It's sorted by color rather than size. But they get the most amazing pieces and have great prices!

    3. I've been to Portland a couple of times, but have not been to that store - but I will next time we come down, thanks, K!

We ARE the same size - too bad you don't live closer! :D
