This outfit, for example, is not nearly warm enough for those temps.
- Cardigan - Kenzo, consignment; last worn here in March, over green stripes
- Top - Tatum & Olivia, consignment; last seen here in July with a silk cocoon
- Trousers - Soaked in Luxury; last worn here (3rd outfit in March) with a silk tunic for Book Club
- Shoes - Matisse, Sidney; last seen here (3rd outfit) with these trousers in March - same outfit!
- Snakeskin trench (below) - River Island, consignment; last worn here in April
The ruffled top underneath survived its previously-worn encounter with my Korean chicken lunch, thank goodness. However, it's sleeveless and unlined and brrrr! it was chilly.
I did not wear my cardigan open like this - that's for a sunny day!Ack! A ghost! Actually, it's just L, leaving for work. I hope you weren't scared.
Back to the outfit - these trousers are also very thin viscose. Probably should have tucked those away for the season, but the colour is so good for fall.
Masked up.
This is how I looked all day - very much cocooned. I fluffed the front of the top so that it spilled out of the cardi.

Outerwear - now with 100% more weather-appropriate clothing.
A hat for the rain - my head stays completely dry - and a rain-proof trench (in a thematic snakeskin).

- Scarf - France, vintage fair
- Gloves - vintage 40s; purchased here for $40.00

First wearing of the gloves, and they were very comfortable (and accommodated all of my rings). I really liked the long gauntlet arms - no rain on me!

Sheila-darling; I just love those pants and the ruffled top (the whole ensemble actually) I’m so glad you braved the cold weather today to show it off for your adoring followers. I shared your blog with my two daughters today( Amy and Alexis) and decided that I needed to share your blog with my two favourite sisters too (Carol and Sheila) the were both models in the 1980’s and would appreciate the quality clothing labels as well as the quality of your blog. One of these days I’m going to get Tony to help me log onto your blog with my google account… until then, I am yours anonymously-Alison L

Doesn't surprise me you have a ghost -- he lives in the secret room!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you mentioned the ghost was L., and not an actual ghost, or a leftover prop from your party :-)
ReplyDeleteHurray for rain, but I wouldn't have been prepared for 8°C either. It definitely takes getting used to. Don't tell me you weren't wearing anything under that ruffled top!
I'm loving those trousers, and I do get why you left them out even though they're thin viscose. They'll still be perfect for a mild Autumn day.
That snakeskin trench is a sight for sore eyes, and another one of my favourites of yours. It's on my list together with at least one Welsh wool coat! xxx
I did not wear anything under the ruffled top - I should have!
DeleteI love your shoes, I love all your shoes. What size do you wear?
ReplyDeleteI'm a size 9.5 (Euro 40), usually.
DeleteI am obsessed with these pants Sheila, they are absolutely stunning... my new fav is cheetah spots
ReplyDeleteThanks, Trish! You're really gonna love my suit that I'm wearing today...
DeleteLove that ghostly apparition in the background - spooky stuff!
ReplyDeleteBlimey, that's a proper dip in temperature, isn't it? Those trousers ARE perfectly Autumnal! xxx
I really like the pants and it's a shame that the top wasn't warm enough as it looks so good with that outfit! we have had the opposite change here - it's gone form layering spring days to suddenly feeling like summer and over 30s. I think it will be a really hot summer when it does arrive.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I Saaaay! I do like this combo. The tortoiseshell bling is really nice! I love those shoes- they are really attractive!x
ReplyDeleteSo glad that white blouse survived, I do love seeing it!
