Burgundy Boss Pants and Return of the Skull Jacket.

I'll be wearing a lot of my spooky clothes and accessories now that we're well into October - I always look forward to getting all my bug jewelry back, as well as my other seasonal clothes.

Like this leather jacket, as decorated by me! I'm so happy to have it back in my closet.
I whiffed on the Stair Pic this morning - whoops!

  • Snake jacket - Q2 Collection, vintage 90s, thrifted, illustrated by me - last seen here for our anniversary weekend in Vancouver in March
  • Sleeveless sweater - INC, thrifted; last worn here in May
  • Trousers - Contemporaine, thrifted; purchased way back here in April (scroll down) for $8.48
  • Shoes - Mini QTee, Fluevog, consignment; last seen here in January with a jacket and skirt that didn't stay in my closet

I finally got around to hemming these trousers, which I picked up on a shop with my coworker Lindsay back in April! I don't hate sewing, but I easily find other things to do.
I welcome the burgundy Boss Lady pants into my wardrobe. Nice big pockets, big swooshy legs - perfect Boss Pants. I hemmed them for flats, but wore a short heel today.

I loved wearing this jacket again. If you haven't seen it, you can enjoy my reveal and process here
Too bad I only saw a few people today! Thank goodness for you readers!

Without the jacket. I took it off briefly when I overheated in the morning.
I like the high waist on these pants. I skipped the tie belt they came with in favour of a studded black one.

This is mostly how I looked all day.
Just a Boss Lady in her Skull Jacket!

Incognito.
Only a scarf required.

Accoutrements:
I heard rumours of rain coming...

  • Scarf - fake Louis (Lewis!) Vuitton, thrifted
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
I've had these shoes for 11 years, and I bought them second hand - Fluevogs last for decades!

Black bling:
I spy a spider and a beetle.

  • Belt - vintage 90s, thrifted
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Silver/onyx ring - Toccara, vintage fair
  • Spider ring - gift from Mom & Dad, c. 1986
  • Bug pendant - local, gift from L

Do you wear spooky stuff at this time of year?

  1. Welcome back, skull jacket! I don't hate those running repairs either but seem to find every excuse in the book not to do them until the very last minute. xxx

  3. I love those trousers - just right for this time of year. I am wearing trousers most days now to the office

  4. The pants complement the jacket but you already knew that! I like them together…I see the outfit as understated boss lady, which feels like it adds more authority to the ensemble. As for the high waist, I am finding pants in this style - high waist and wider legs - more comfortable and flattering. Makes me grin because for as long as I can recall, the vast majority of my pants would sit below or at my belly button.

That’s a “nope” on Halloween accessories, but I do have a few fun earrings for the December holidays.

You thank your readers and I thank you! Your blog is my morning company (after word games…I save the best for last :) plus the games and my cup of tea wake me up). Reading your blog is virtually hanging out with a friend. :)
    Cheers, Laurie

  6. Hello skull jacket, aren't you looking particularly fetching paired with the burgundy boss pants! Those shoes are pretty fabulous too!
So hearing you on the sewing thing, and I've had things in my alterations/repairs pile for much longer than this. Although I don't hate sewing, these jobs are the ones I tend to procrastinate on.
I don't usually wear spooky things this time of year, but then again Halloween isn't a big thing here (yet). Mind you, I've got a spider brooch I've never worn ... xxx

  7. Great trousers, although I would only wear them with the heel hight I chose to hem them on. The jacket is a piece of art.

  8. Divine ensemble! I love those trousers! The hemming thing always gives me fits. I don’t know which shoes I’ll wear the darn things with it changes every time! How can I choose? Eh.

  9. That jacket is amazing and looks so good with those boss lady pants! I am still so sad I cannot pull off boss lady pants but maybe I just haven't found the perfect ones yet - I will have to keep looking!
