I get to indulge my inner Goth!
- Top - Danier Leather, thrifted; last worn here in June with lavender bookends
- Skirt - Diane Von Furstenberg, vintage 90s, thrifted; purchased here for $9.95
- Booties - Suzie Truth, Fluevog, consignment; last seen here (4th outfit) in July with my red leopard suit to see a movie
- Capelet (below) - no label, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in March
This was my view as I sat on the stairs at 7:30am.
The Castle is just starting to wake up - streaks of pink sear across the sky. I kept this black leather-fronted tee out with the intent of layering a turtleneck under it.
I didn't expect it would still be so warm, this far into October.

I paired the top with my new-to-me vintage Diane Von Furstenberg skirt.
I'm boggled that it was less than $10.00!

It was a dream to wear.
I don't know what happened with my wee camera, but that picture came out blurry. It's probably a ghost.

Incognito.
I adore capes, and had forgotten about this dark green, fur-trimmed capelet that I bought back in January.

This is only the third time I've worn it.
I love that the back of it is split - it makes it easier to carry a bag.

There's a full back under the "wings", plus it has pockets.
I ran into Yvonne on the way home and she was gobsmacked at my outfit. "Look at you!"

- Badass Bag - thrifted, illustrated by me
- Silk scarf - Elaine Gold, vintage 60s, Lazy Susan's
- Leather gloves - Echo, consignment
- Mask - by Mom
The stuff:
These shoes are from the same family as the boots I wore yesterday, and again, I walked to and from work in them.

- Open bangle/earrings - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
- Fang bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Sidney
- Klimt ring - consignment
- Poison ring - Karen's
The open bangle has what look like gold incisor teeth - vampire fangs! I also generally refer to the black bangle as my Fang Bangle, as the little "fangs" with the crystals on them also resemble teeth.
Such a lovely look for the season. Love the leather top.

That cape is fab and all the better for the practicality factor, much as I love them they can be a right pain to wear!
ReplyDeleteLove the subtle spooky bling especially the poison ring. xxx
LOVE this outfit. Lise
ReplyDeleteRed plaid, yes please! Classy outfit, wonderful fit, with a delightfully subtle seasonal theme.
ReplyDeleteCould be poison in the ring or, my preference, some yummy chocolate. ;) (LOL Not that I eat chocolate much anymore but just the thought of it does the job!)
The castle view is so clear, close and evocative.
Cheers, Laurie
The black tank with the plaid softens the goth look. I like it. Another great cape.
ReplyDeleteLove the cape. Thanks for the post on the new gorge park building. Stopped in the other day and had lunch at the park.

No wonder Yvonne was gobsmacked, as your outfit is absolutely amazing. I'm swooning over that cape, what a fantastic find that was. Loving the subtle spooky bling and you never known when you'll need a poison ring. So practical :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteI was looking closely for your horror...
ReplyDeleteI love the way you style your capes -- this look is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy stars, that skirt is to die for! And such a fab price; kudos!
ReplyDeleteSo…I have to ask…would the bracelet be a “fangle”, then?
(Thank you, I’ll see myself out …)

wow lovely photos
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, that poison ring is amazing. I have never seen something like it. Love it. Love the hole look, the skirt of course, it's DvF what's not to love, but I adore that cape too!
ReplyDeleteOooooooh, aaaah!!! The poison ring is so coooool!! Love this outfit! The DVF skirt is lovely and what an excellent cape!! Kezzie x
ReplyDeleteThe cape is the perfect outer layer with this and even though it's warm it's good you are getting to enjoy your cosy autumn layers! I really like the tartan skirt - I had a wool navy and black tartan skirt I adored for the office, especially in winter, but sadly I outgrew it and donated it. I often think of it though, that's why it's so hard for me to let clothes go, the regrets of the ones I did haha! Even if I had it still I wouldn't fit into it though, so it's really silly to miss!
