Profesh In Pink

Today, we had a senior VP in our office from another city - I dressed up, as we're much more casual on the west coast than the rest of Canada.
Boss pants! I'm totally in lurve with these plaid pants.

  • Blouse - Talbots, thrifted; last worn here in January with bronze pleats
  • Pants - Karen for Simonsen; purchased here for $7.49
  • Shoes - Effortless Bebe, Fluevog; last seen here in April for a frilly brunch
  • Coat (below) Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, vintage fair; last worn here in February

These trousers are a woven pattern, in two shades of pink, plus burgundy.
As I pointed out to my colleague Carol-Anne, none of the pinks in this outfit match either the pants or each other.

"But they GO!" she exclaimed (I've been mentoring her on clothes and style in general for a few years).
Exactly!

I loved this outfit and felt very Profesh in Pink.
A good butt view is essential - pants that don't make your bum look fabulous do not deserve to be in your closet!

Incognito outerwear - I was really hoping that today the sun would come out, and I could walk home with my coat open, and not have to wear my gloves.
Nope.

Done up.
I walked to work both was like this. It's going to be a shock when the temperatures are finally over 10-12 degrees during the day.

Accoutrements:
Some favourites - that's the softest silk scarf.

  • Scarf - vintage, thrifted
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Such good shoes. That's a very comfortable heel.

Gold-ish bling:
I briefly considered wearing silver jewelry (I chose the belt before the jewelry), but liked this faded gold look more.

  • Belt - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Necklace - 2018, Eaton's, c. 2007
  • Cuff - found
  • Earrings - Kenneth Cole Reaction, thrifted
  • Leaf bracelet - Trifari, thrifted
  • Rings - vintage 70s, Mom's

Today is Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday!! I wore her rings today, so we'd be close. We'll be getting together tomorrow for a long overdue Mom-Day Adventure, but in the meantime, please wish Mom a happy birthday (she reads all my comments).
"You should call her."

I'm going to, Vizzini, jeez!

  4. Happy birthday Sheila's mum. You have a wonderful relationship with your daughter. So many mother-daughter relationships are full of accusations, jealousy and bitterness. I envy you a bit and am thankful for all the postings on your outings. Greetings from northern Germany.

Such a great outfit: profesh yet fab! Those trousers are fantastic on you, and yes, they do make your bum look fabulous. Love the symphony of pinks and the faded gold bling. That leaf bracelet is to die for!
I do hope there are some warm days ahead of you very soon. We've had temps in the low twenties all week, and - wait for it - I've been going to work bare-legged!
Enjoy your Mom-day adventure, can't wait to read all about it. xxx
P.S. Re. your comment on my blog: I am definitely hearing you on all the blogging extras. I usually don't have the mental energy either ...

  12. Sheila, this outfit is off the charts perfect! The fit (like the pieces were made for you), the lines, the colors, the accessories, the whole kit and kaboodle is just outstanding! I totally understand the “profesh” vibe. :)

And now for something extra special…

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR SHEILA’S MOM!!
Always so enjoyable to “see” you on the Mom-Day Adventure! Thanks to Sheila, I’ve “been” to your home, appreciated your art, and feel like surely we must have met. Here’s to your sparkle and those glorious Mother-Daughter selfies!

Cheers to you and Sheila, Laurie

  13. As I get older, I begin to actually appreciate pink! Around the time I grew up, all the media favoritised tomboys and made fun of girly girls. I guess Legally Blonde was a turning point because she seems ditsy but she passed law school so she has to be smart!

Happy birthday to your mom!My compter is doing weird things so if this posts as gibberish that is why.

  16. I agree, all the pinks go together. You have an eye for that. When I opened this post I went: "My my, what do we have here, how corporate". Then a read about the visitor at the office. You were totally the part.
Happy belated birthday wishes to your mum from me as well.
