Matching Lavender and Forgotten Shoes

Today's outfit came about because of two things. One, my newly re-lavendered hair, which is a very close match to this lavender wrap-around sweater.
The other reason is that I found one of these shoes on the floor of my closet, and realized I have yet to wear them since I bought them back in early March. I'd pulled one shoe out to go with an outfit that evolved, and forgotten to put it back - its mate was tucked behind another pair.

  • Wrap cardigan - Kersh; last seen here in May 2021 over black and white
  • Shirt - Ann Taylor, consignment; last worn here in February under my Kenzo tiger dress
  • Skirt - Vivienne Tam, 2000 Fall Ready-to-Wear, consignment; last seen here in August 2021 with gold silk
  • Shoes - Chanii B; purchased here for $93.00
  • Leather jacket (below) - Danier Leather; last worn here in March

I wasn't in a rush to wear them since they require bare legs due to the open toe.
And yes, I have bare legs - first of the season! I wore little black shorts underneath my skirt.

The skirt was the perfect bridge for the shoes and the cardigan.
It's an oldie that I've had since 2010 (Flashback here, and I've now worn it 19 times). It's one of my favourite pieces in my wardrobe. I stopped in at Rich Rags after work and the owner remembered it!

It's superb quality - that pattern is woven.
Eeee! I'm distracted by the shoe bows! And more lavender. More matching.

Masked up.
I often do yellow accessories to go with the bit of yellow in the skirt.

And I always wear my yellow leather jacket with it. I love all this colour.
I actually took my gloves off on the way home. Progress!

It's finally getting a bit warmer.
This jacket has been in my closet since 2010 - I bought it new and have worn it a hundred times, easily.

Accoutrements:
Yellow skulls!

  • Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
  • Gloves - Parkhurst
  • Mask - Lazy Susan's

The elastic is shot in these gloves - most annoying.

The stuff:
Such pretty shoes! The ribbons did work their way undone, and tended to loosen even when I did them up tight. I'll have to double-knot the bows next time. They were superbly comfortable - that's a 2" heel once you factor the platform in. Shoe Math!

Sparkly bling:
Colleague Monica loved the sparkly pink necklace and earrings.

  • Necklace/earrings - Sherman, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Cuff - Swarovski, consignment, gift from L
  • Chain bracelet - Stella & Dot, thrifted
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall

I found them at an antique fair for $22.00 in 2014 (enjoy an old post here).

  1. I love how the gold pops out in that skirt as soon as you added the jacket! I hope you get some warmth soon and can dispense with the gloves. Well done for getting your legs out! xxx

  3. Those shoes are so pretty and I really like them with that gorgeous skirt! :) It's good you were able to give them a wear - and go bare-legged for the first time in the season! Just as I'm layering up here, haha!

  4. Spring time from (literally) head to toes, and such a smashing outfit to inaugurate bare legs! Each piece of your outfit resonates, with special delight for your skirt (colors, pattern!) and those amazing shoes! They remind me of a pair of suede burgundy platform sandals from my high school years - same style though the ones I had didn’t have the bows. They (and a pair of leather green lace-up ankle boots) were my favorites.

Enjoy your warmer days and bare legs; I know it feels delightful to have air breeze on the body. Ahh. (I went bare legged this morning!)

    Cheers, Laurie

  8. Well done for finally going bare-legged like me, although admittedly it was such a chilly day yesterday that I had no choice but to get out the nylons yet again :-(
This outfit totally made my heart sing! I love all the matching lavenders, and that skirt is just stunning, particularly worn with the yellow jacket which, as Vix rightly pointed out, makes the yellow in the skirt pop out! And oh those shoes! I'm glad to hear they're more comfortable than they look ... xxx

  11. Even though I know you are on the other side of the world, it's so hard for me still to remember you are going into warm weather there while it gets colder here!

This is colour blocking done so right! Fabulous!
