Fortunately, I had a few "must wear" things paired up with new acquisitions.
- Blazer - Emporio Armani, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in June 2021 for Sailor Pants 5 Ways
- Blouse - Soya Concept; first worn here in April 2021 with blue leather
- Skirt - H&M, thrifted; purchased here for $7.95
- Shoes - Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last worn here in April with a jumpsuit
This new-to-me blue skirt fills a gap in my closet: blue skirts!
I really don't have that much in this colour. The jacket makes the cut year after year (Flashback here - I've worn it 3 more times since then).
It's a great cut, a good colour (it goes with a lot), and a classy brand (made in Italy!). I haven't found anything that's better - remember, Always Be Upgrading!

I'd forgotten about this thin viscose tiger-striped top.
Instead of a solid orange (so boring!), a pattern does the trick. Orange tiger - it's the new neutral!

Masked up - my matchy mask delighted my coworkers.
As did the ginormous pockets in this skirt - this is how I looked for most of the day.

Incognito - this is my outerwear look. No coat!
It's really windy out, as you may have noticed from the stair pic, but warm enough that gloves and a silk scarf are sufficient in the morning.

- Mask - Lazy Susan's
The stuff:
I had a bunch of comments on these today, from random strangers in the elevator to my fashionable co-tenant, Emily.

What an excellent outfit! The blue skirt is brilliant and picking out the orange bits with the neutral tiger (ha, love it!)and all the orange stuff is genius. I'm especially loving the orange hoops and gloves.
ReplyDeleteOoh, by the way, I finally got a pair of leather gloves (you told me to). I found a tan/beige pair lined with cashmere in the charity shop on Saturday. Alas, I noticed a stain on them when I got home (any ideas???)but they will certainly do me well!
Kezzie, if it is an oil stain, then set some cornstarch on it and leave them somewhere out of the way for a while to let the cornstarch soak it up. Many leathers ARE washable - handwash with a gentle soap (shampoo is great), gently squeeze out the water, and stretch them into place to dry. They might shrink up slightly, but wearing them will stretch them out again.
DeleteThis is a “spiffy Spring” outfit! Everything about it says it is Spring, and it looks spiffy on you. Quite liking all the orange accessories as well as each piece of clothing both individually and as an ensemble. The skirt color is striking and am not sure I’ve ever seen one in this color. Nice find!
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Laurie
Pleasevsay you're wearing nylons or give me hope hope that in our 50's, legs can look that fantastic bare!
ReplyDeleteI AM wearing nylons, Sam! I'm covered in spider veins and varicose veins, plus the usual assorted scars and bruises. :)
DeleteHey a bird print! Just what we need for The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving absolutely everything about your outfit, Sheila! The blue bird patterned skirt and the orange tiger couldn't have been better suited. What a fabulous example of pattern mixing! I'm loving the addition of the jaunty Alexander McQueen scarf and the silver and orange bling. And it's no wonder you got so many comments on those marvellous shoes. You are definitely the Queen of Amazing Shoes! Oh, and I was thinking the same as Nancy :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteReally cute. I love the orange earrings
ReplyDeleteI love blue and orange together, and this is a fun combination of pieces! I really like that skirt, what a pretty piece! And I was surprised to read that you didn't own a lot of blue and then I realised - you have so many colours of the rainbow in your wardrobe, unlike me who almost always buys a blue version of something if that's a colour choice, haha!
ReplyDeleteLove that you added a printed top instead of a 'boring' solid orange: Orange tiger - it's the new neutral! ;DD Love this!
ReplyDeleteAnd also love your skirt (it even has pockets!, Fabulousness!) and your cool orange bijouterie and those shoes!
besos
Who knew orange and blue with totally different prints could be so well matched! POnly by you! FAbulous!
ReplyDeleteThe word that sprung to mind when I saw the first photo was: SASSY.

Fabulous ensemble! I adore that you opted for a bird themed brooch to match the elegant feathered friends on your super chic skirt. This outfit has "May" written all over it to me and is just as delightfully pretty as can be!
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that coming week is filled with skies as blue as your skirt, my dear friend.

Orange and blue is such a cheery combination, and I really like the shape and print on the skirt.
ReplyDeleteOrange and blue are fabulous together my dear. I've got a skirt in the same tiger print - it could make a suit... I'm off to find that now and see what novel bit of styling I can do. Thanks for the inspiration x
