I was excited to wear this new-to-me Kate Spade houndstooth skirt.
When I did my closet swap-over, I was excited to discover that this lovely deep pink vintage angora sweater is the exact shade of these three-tone Fluevogs.
The skirt is an absolute dream to wear, I'm very happy to report.
Despite being a wrap-around, there was no gaping or opening while I sat at my desk or during my walk to/from the office.
I am wearing a dark orange vintage slip under it, just in case it was a "Hello, please look at my underwear!" kind of skirt (the worst kind). You can see a bit of the slip peeking out above.
Masked up - this is one that I had put away.
The blues matched my accessories perfectly.
Outerwear - I adore this fit-and-flare coat and am happy to have it back in my coat closet.
I didn't really need the scarf/gloves on the way home in the sunshine (ahhhh, it felt so good!), but there was frost on the ground in the morning!

Although I keep my blue rings out all year 'round, my silvers and blues are spring/summer friends. The Sherman set is highly desirable to collectors - even a two-piece set like mine would sell for over $200 on Etsy (but you know I only paid $24.00 for both pieces!). The brooch is a cheaper knock-off version of Sherman, but still vintage.

DeleteThis is a perfect colorful smile-inducing outfit for a Monday! I am beginning to truly appreciate your Fluevogs more and more to the point that if there was a store near me, post-pandemic I’d go in for a try-on. Alas, I believe the nearest one is in Soho in the City, too far of a trek from the suburbs.

DeleteAs it's back to Winter here - we had highs of only 4°C today, and intermittent flurries of snow - I am actually glad I still have all my Winter stuff winking at me in my wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, even if you weren't overly creative, I absolutely adore that outfit. Your newly thrifted Kate Spade skirt is delightful, and I love how the houndstooth works with the pink and blue, making it a very bright and Springlike outfit.
I've always swooned over that fit and flare coat, which is such a flattering shape. No wonder you're glad to have it back on rotation.

Blue and pink are two of my favourite colours. I love the way you styled it. It's freezing here and Ive just endured a hailstorm while walking the dog. Still it is sunny during most of the day.

It is always nice to see houndstooth pattern, always so fabulous and classical at the same time. I also like the slip you wore under it. ReplyDeleteWe were surprised by snow this evening, but I don't think it will stick. We'll see. I must have been a comic sight in my summer dress and house slippers, rushing out and pushing our newly planted lemon and orange tree pots to the balcony door so my husband could carry them in (too heavy for me to carry). Still, it was fun to see snow. First time for us this year. It snowed in the hills and mountains but not in the city itself.
I love matching pieces in an outfit, Ivana - and I do appreciate that you noticed all the details (takes an artist!). I know, what a steal on the Sherman crystals!
