Pink, and Studded Black Flashback

Today, I just needed pink.
Your eyes do not deceive you - that is a really bright pink. Not quite PANK, but nearly!

  • Dress - InWear; first worn here for a birthday brunch with L in June
  • Shoes - Sam Edelman, thrifted; last seen here with a leopard suit in August
  • Coat (below) - Stop Staring!, thrifted; last worn here in May

Pockets full of hands.
I'd originally planned to wear my new-to-me silver/black leather belt with this outfit (this one), but when I put the belt on, it was too big. Whoops, it's a hip belt. I forgot.

My big studded metal/leather belt filled in perfectly.
I felt very badass with all my studs.
And my colourful pink armour felt very secure.

Masked up - another one of Mom's masks.
I love having a wardrobe of them!

Coated up - we are back to cool mornings, although it's forecast to be hot (up to 26 degrees!) this week.
I'm wearing a vintage 80s silk scarf - it's the first time I've worn it since I bought it here in May 2019! You can look at the whole scarf here (it's very cool).

  • Scarf - vintage 80s, thrifted

I'm happy to be delving back into my coats and outerwear - we have maybe another 6 weeks of warm-ish weather before I have to swap out my light coats for my heavy ones in the coat closet.
I was tickled by the flashes of pink as I walked to and from work.

The stuff:
This will likely be the last wearing of these shoes before I pack them away for the season. I don't like flats with open heels in winter. We will have a short Flashback on them in a minute.

Silver bling:
All of my jewelry is meant to go with my new-to-me belt, not this one.

  • Belt - BCBG Max Azria, consignment
  • Silver cuff - Karen's
  • Shield ring - Nine West
  • Silver/onyx ring - Tocarra, vintage fair
  • Earrings - thrifted

Flashback: Sam Edelman Studded Ankle-Strap Flats (Black)

Although I haven't had these shoes for very long, they've quickly become a favourite in my summer wardrobe. I picked them up on one of my weekend shopping expeditions at the big Women In Need store here in April 2019, marked down to $9.95.
They are leather, and those little studs are metal. I love that badassery!

I wore them right away (as I often do) in April 2019, with a familiar outfit (the flamingo top had a Flashback).
They are excellent walking shoes or for wearing to work when I want flats. I wore them here for a hangout at the pub with our friends.

A work outfit in May 2019.
We saw this outfit in the leather pants Flashback.

And this outfit from July 2019 also might ring a few bells.
We saw it in the skirt's Flashback! To review any Flashback, you can click on the "Flashback" tab on the top of the main page - garments are sorted by type (so this will be filed under the skirts, for example).

Here's another outfit you might remember from this amazing skirt's Flashback, as worn in August 2019.
If you're counting, that's 4 wearings in the first season of having these shoes - excellent.

Which brings us to 2020, and specifically, April, when I wore this outfit to go visit Mom during lockdown.
So fun! I should wear those pants again before I pack them away for 6 months.

I wore this in June 2020, when the Winesday Women said goodbye to Karen.
I spy some Clothing as Armour.

And here's the last time I wore them, to walk to town to meet with Jen for dinner in August.
I love this entire look.

Mathy stuff: Although I haven't had these shoes for very long, they have still been a solid purchase. I've worn them 8 times so far, and that brings us to $1.24 per wear. I'll update this Flashback in a couple of years and see how well they are doing then!

  1. I love these shoes. Unique and stylish. Like you!

  2. Wow, love your outfit Sheila!

The juxtaposition between the pink and studded belt looks great!

Hope you gave a lovely, warm week. X

    1. I do love girly + badass, Jess, ha ha!

It's going to be a hot one! I love getting summer weather into October.

  3. I love the sudded shoes and belt with the pink! :) These shoes remind me of my favourite pair of heels - they weren't expensive leather and the studs might have actually been plastic, but I LOVED those heels. I wore them everywhere until the heels needed replaced, and then continued wearing them until the studs started falling off. When the insides started peeling I knew it was time for them to go, but I was so sad. never had such a comfortable pair of heels since (although I also got my knee injury since then so heels don't rate high on comfort, ha!)

    1. Thanks, Mica! Oh, those heels sound fabulous! I would love a wee heel (not more than 1.5") with studs like these. I'm glad you wore them until they fell apart!

I know you'll be able to find cool shoes once you can get back into stores - you can do it! :)

  4. Those shoes! I have to find some dotted shoes sometime in my life. Once again all your combos are spot on.

    1. I love that the studs are not just dots, but actually studs that go right through the leather, SAM. Thank you so much!

  5. Pink dress on (where I am) a gray day, the perfect antidote! I admire the pink dress outfit, the July2019 (skirt flashback :)) outfit and the last outfit from August. To my eye, each one is classic with a bit of pizzazz as only you can do, and you rock them!
Also, thanks again for the updated book links! (Fellow book lovers looking for suggestions, check under the Stuff About Me tab at the top of the blog.)

    1. Happy to provide some colour in your day, Laurie! I love pizzazz! Ha ha! Thank you so much.

Yes, and I want to hear which books caught your eye!

  6. The pink dress has a lovely drape and looks fab on you!

What fab shoes they are; I can't wear this style unfortunately as my feet are too wide and tend to spill over the sole never mind the pinching at the front! Ah well, I'm happy to admire you in yours...

    Take care

    1. Thank you so much, Vronni! The skirt is very swooshy!

I love these shoes - yeah, I get that, there is not much room if you have wide feet.

  7. Wow, I'm loving that not quite PANK but very near pink dress! I was feeling a bit down today and seeing that flash of pink went a long way to brighten things up, so thank you! Combining the pink dress with the badass studded belt and shoes is giving it a certain punk vibe. We "punkettes" used to wear pink with studded boots or shoes, plus a studded leather jacket, obviously, quite a lot. I'm loving the mask you're wearing too, and the scarf, and yes, that's another one of my favourite coats of yours! And I'm in awe of your new flashback tab, that is true dedication! xxx

    1. Thanks, Ann! I love this bright, vibrant colour, and am happy it's cheered things up for you, even a little. I love the mix of girly + badass - it's so me. I wasn't a punk back in the day, but I definitely love that punk edge in my outfits.

It was actually not that hard to do the new tab - the hardest part is remembering to update it!

  8. I love studs! Ever since I wore my first studded bracelet in the 80s! And what a fabulous coat, it's got a bit of a 50 s feel!

    1. I thought of you when I built this outfit, Nancy! I know you love punk accents. Thank you, yes, the company that made the coat specializes in vintage reproductions and vintage-inspired clothes. I was lucky to thrift it cheap.

  9. I love that dress on you especially with the studded shoes and metal belt, Rock Chick Barbie! That coat is dead classy, too.
Karen's cuff is a stunner, that lady had incredibly good taste - just like her dear friend. xxx

    1. Thanks so much, Vix! Ha, I love it! I'm totally Rock Chick Barbie!

She did have amazing taste. I love wearing her things.

  10. Hi Sheila, love how you added the "badass" to the feminine pink dress. I also love the coat. thanks for your reply the other day i will hang in there and get cheered by the outfit ideas you come up with. It seems your pink has cheered a lot of us up. Shazxx

    1. Aw, thanks so much, Shaz! Glad to cheer your day with my bright + badassery, heh heh.

I hope you are doing okay, my dear.

  11. This pink dress was made for you. I love the coat you wore with it. Absolutely beautiful! This kind of tailored coats with a defined waist are so feminine. It's almost like wearing a dress over a dress. I really like them! The pointy shoes are fab as well. Great seeing how you wore them. The suit look is my fav from this flashback. I love how you now include flashbacks in all (or almost all) your posts. They are much appreciated and a great source of fashion inspiration.

    1. Thanks, Ivana! I love the bright colour. Isn't the coat amazing? You just don't see coats like that much.

Glad you're enjoying the Flashbacks (the suit is my fave too). I'm having fun with them.

  12. NICE. I love bright pink. Any bright colour really. And the shoes are a true find. I think, for me, they might be a bit too flat. I like a heel of half an inch to an inch.
    The scarf is really beautiful.

    1. Me too! Yeah, I would like them to have a wee bit more heel, but I'm fine with how they are now.

      Thank you!

  13. Pink and studs are such a great combination.

  14. That dress is such an eye-blasting shade of pink - I love it. It looks great with the studded belt.

    1. It's nearly neon, Shelley, and is SO bright! It makes me happy, though.

  15. The cut of that vidid, beautiful pink dress is awesome. If I could wave a magic wand and have a whole rainbow of frocks with the same tailoring suddenly appear I would - in fact, I'd create two so that we'd each have a set.

    1. I know, it's one of the nicest dresses I own! Thank you!
