Olive Re-Try, Chartreuse Rescue and a Cranky Cat

Another attempt today with this olive velvet skirt - I had to give it a re-try since it just didn't work with yesterday's outfit at all.
I also realized that I had to rescue this chartreuse cardi from the giveaway pile. Another rash decision! What is going on?

  • Cardigan - Joseph A, consignment; last seen here misbehaving in August with more greens
  • Sleeveless sweater - Ellen Tracy, swap from Caro; last worn here in May, under a beaded velvet kimono
  • Velvet skirt - Banana Republic, vintage 00s, thrifted; purchased here for $19.95
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last worn here in October with businessy gold
  • Coat (below) - L'Atiste, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in October

Despite the cardigan wrinkling like mad, and the bagginess and the droopy sleeves, I adore the colour and it's a really useful piece. So it's back. Regret-me-not!
Much better than my aborted attempt yesterday, I quite liked this skirt today.

I love long over long shapes, that flowiness and movement in an outfit really appeal to me.
Pockets are good too.
I am sighing wistfully at how curly my hair looks here. I had nary a wave left by the time I got to work.

Outerwear - I love this big plaid coat.
"Hmm...what's this in your bag?"
Vizzini was poking around this morning, trying to get my attention.

  • Fur scarf - Danier Leather
  • Leather gloves - Danier Leather

He was also flopping around last night while I was putting my outfit together. He must think that my posing spot outside my closet is special.
"I claim this spot! Pay attention to me!"

He's very cranky here. I tried to pet him and he bit me (he's quite bitey). Not hard, just enough to tell me to f**k off.
"Don't mess with me, Woman."
Cats. They are so contradictory!

A quick shout out to my friends' cats, however. Cat and Ross' old fellow, Baxter is sick - you might remember him from my visit here last year. And Vix's fur-boy Frank is also having medical issues. Even if you're not a cat person, send good vibes to our friends and their furry fam. Be well!

The stuff:
Another busy day, so these were great shoes for running around in.

POLY bling:
I like all the mixed metals in these pieces.

  • Silver/gold cuff - JPL, vintage fair
  • Necklace - POLY, thrifted
  • Bangle - POLY, thrifted
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Gold ring - POLY, vintage fair
  • Steel ring - POLY, Hamilton Art Gallery gift shop

Vizzini finally flopped last night (after I shut the closet door).
"I give up."

I carried him off to bed with L and I, and he slept with us all night.

  1. Such a gorgeous outfit -- the colors look amazing on you. Sending positive vibes to the ailing cats -- so hard when your pet is ill.

  2. I'm loving your long flowy outfit. That skirt is truly sumptious, I didn't get its full fabulousness on the hanger, but now I do. It looks a treat with your long chartreuse cardigan, which I'm glad you rescued from the giveaway pile! The mixed metal bling is just perfect with it. And oh, Vizzini! Secretly I am glad that Phoebe's not the only bitey one! xxx

    1. Thanks, Ann! I've learned to really try on stuff that doesn't look like much on the hanger - it's often really hard to tell about a garment until you try it. I am glad I pulled the cardi out, but arg, when am I ever going to find another one to replace it?

Yes, Vizzini's always been bitey. Did not know Phoebe was too, little scamp!

  7. Hooray for finding the perfect accompaniments to the velvet maxi. That cardi is fabulous, I love how luxurious and drapey it looks!
Vizzini sounds like Stephen Squirrel, manic and bitey! Must be a black and white cat thing!
Thank you so much for the positive cat vibes. Franks feeling very sorry for himself, Jon's managed to get him to eat something and the vet's dressed him in a romper suit as he couldn't deal with the cone of shame. Hopefully we'll get the results on Monday.
Loads of love to Cat, Ross and Baxter. xxx

    1. Thank you, Vix! It is a lovely cardi - I wish it were a bit sturdier, but it's good enough until I destroy it or really get tired of it.

Must be - our little wildlings like to remind us of their teeth, don't they?

Sending lots - aw, poor Frank. Don't take any pictures of he'll be further humiliated in his romper. Fingers crossed for all our kitties, Vix, thanks.

  8. Love the curly hair. Your Vizzini is a cheeky (but very cute) one.

My sister mentioned today that it’s about time we fostered some kittens again (we’ve done it a few times before). I can’t wait! X
