And before you know it, it's the weekend!
We've had such clear weather lately that my morning stair pictures have been turning out really bright - I've toned down the light, but at least you can get a look at the wonderful blue of my boots here.- Blazer - Emporio Armani, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in September with matching stripes
- Blouse - Talbots, thrifted; purchased here for $7.50
- Skirt - Ted Baker, consignment; last seen here with autumn pastels in September
- Boots - Ishshoes Chatterbox, Fluevog; last worn here in January with a cocoon of comfort
- Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here last weekend
The boots photograph poorly indoors, but now you can see the rest of my outfit. I took the jacket off when I had hot flashes. I've discovered these are brought on by drinking a lot of hot liquid quickly (coffee, tea), and by climbing stairs. I go up and down stairs about 20 times a day at work, so I had the jacket off frequently.
The pink blouse is such a pretty colour - it actually has a woven snakeskin pattern in it (you can see it here).
It's viscose but drapes like silk, and it wrinkles like mad. It steamed out beautifully though, and looks good here.
The skirt is so pretty - I'm glad I kept it out for fall/winter.
Jacket on and special guest photobomber, L.
He has a new job, and since he's now working downtown, we have more overlap time in the mornings. So nice to actually see him for a while (although I am not very communicative until I've had my coffee).
I liked the blouse with this jacket - I should have pulled the bow out for the picture though. Oops.
The jacket is gorgeous quality. It's made in Italy and beautifully cut.
I could use a higher slit on this skirt for walking, but it's not too bad.
The boots have a cut-in heel - groovy, eh?
Vizzini has been hiding in the mornings. It's not quite cold enough to start heating the bedroom, but it's too chilly in general for His Cuddliness.
"Tell them how you chased me out from under the bed." |
It's true, I did do that. He stuck his paw in my face this morning!
Outerwear - only the Fuzzy Flamingo would do.
All these colours started to remind me of the beautiful sunsets we've been having. As I was walking home, I realized I matched the sky almost perfectly.
Done up - I was way too warm in this.
Didn't need the gloves or the scarf on the way home.
- Fur scarf/leather gloves - Danier Leather
The stuff:
These boots are a lovely soft velvet, and an absolute delight to wear. Go back and look at the colour in the stair picture again - isn't it amazing?
Blue bling:
I pinned the brooch on the lapel of the blazer.
- Brooch - vintage 60s, vintage fair
- Earrings - thrifted
- Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
I made it home in time to take a couple of pictures of the sunset.
Through the Gary oaks in our front yard.
And from the stairwell outside.
Nature always has a better outfit than me!
And now, my friends, I will leave you as we embark on our long weekend here in Canada. It's Remembrance Day on Monday, as we honour those who represent and stand for our country in the military.
"And I will go back under the bed." |
I'll be back on Monday with tales of our shenanigans. Have a wonderful weekend, and thank you for stopping by!
Love the boots! We're having a long weekend here, too (Veterans Day). Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYay for long weekends! Thanks so much, Ally!
DeleteThe boots, the boots! Love them!
ReplyDeleteYou do match that spectacular sky beautifully! Love the print on that skirt - fab fit, too - the flamingo coat goes perfectly.
How nice to have more time at home with L - bet Vizzini appreciates it, too. xxx
Aren't they amazing, Vix? Thank you!
DeleteIt's a gorgeous skirt, and the coat is now a firm favourite in my closet.
It is nice - although Vizzini mostly hides in the morning (he's such a crankypants).
Those boots are magnificent, and a truly spectacular colour! Talking about spectacular, those sunset skies are so beautiful. I'll be including some of my own in my upcoming post, but nothing near as good as yours. Loving your pink blouse, which is a perfect companion for that gorgeous skirt. And I always love seeing the Fuzzy Flamingo. Best coat ever! Have a great weekend, Sheila xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann, I'm so glad that picture truly shows the magnificent colour accurately. We've had the most gorgeous sunsets lately, and I lucked out with those photos.

DeleteI like the colours in this outfit, especially with the pink coat! The sunset is so beautiful too. With our new house, we get the best view of the beautiful sunsets from our back garden. Sure there are some trees and houses and stuff in the way, but the sky is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend!
Thank you, Mica! I couldn't believe I was wearing all the colours that I was seeing in the sky!
DeleteThat is so awesome that you get that view from your house (we have lots of buildings in the way too).
Happy weekend to you!
Love the blue boots! And how wonderful that your outfit matches the sky.

DeleteThose blue velvet boots are a fashion gem! I imagine they must be a joy to wear indeed. I love how you paired them with that beautiful floral skirt and a delicate pink blouse. The blazer is very elegant and the pink coat is gorgeous as well. Another fabulous styling...and I just love your cat.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ivana, they really are. Much appreciated. The cat well knows how cute he is!
DeleteThose boots are such a magnificent colour - there's something really sumptuous about deep blue velvet.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Mim - they are a favourite of mine, for sure.
DeleteThe fuzzy flamingo and those blue boots are a heavenly combination my dear - you're truly a master of your art. Yes, the rest of the outfit is lovely, but those are my big-sigh pieces x
