The Return of the Jammy Suit, Plus Cat Pictures

It was very hard to get going this morning. Poor L was sick all day yesterday, and still in bed this morning. I wanted to stay home too.
But Monday calls. Must go to work.

  • Jacket and pants suit - Part Two; both pieces first worn here in May with more cream
  • Top - Jones New York, vintage, thrifted; last worn here in June 2018 with green trousers and Armani
  • Shoes - Wonders, consignment; last seen here (3rd outfit) just a couple of days ago with a Giant Vest

My usual stair pose doesn't always work with trousers, so the above one is filling in.
See, my legs look short, and the top doesn't sit right with the jacket when I'm leaning over to the side.

Without the jacket.
The top is silk and beaded front and back. Very delicate

It is lovely on, but tends to look odd under jackets. It's actually a really good fit.
At least my butt looks good.

I had issues getting Vizzini out of the way this morning.
"Cuddle time!"

I tried to explain that I had no time to cuddle, but he just lay there like a lump until I rubbed his tum.

Jacket on.
My coworkers raved about this outfit. I spotted at least two other women wearing a very similar colour combo.

I must be on trend in my jammy suit right now.
I do like suits are "in" - I've always enjoyed wearing a good suit. I got my first suit in 1985, when I was in high school. It was a black and white plaid, with a similar jacket to this, worn with a pencil skirt. I was styling when I was 17!

Hands in pockets. Yessss.
The fabric is very swingy and swooshy.

I mean business in my pajama-style suit.
Some days you just don't want to wear colour. It's all good, though.

The stuff:
Awesome shoes - too comfy not to wear them again so quickly! I actually had them planned with this suit from the day I bought them.

POLY bling:
Some of my Christophe Poly collection.

  • Silver/gold cuff - JPL, vintage fair
  • Bracelet - POLY, thrifted
  • Ring w/green - POLY, Art Gallery of Hamilton gift shop
  • Ring w/grey - POLY, vintage fair
  • Earrings - vintage mall

Last night, Vizzini crept up behind me on the couch, and took over one of my pillows.
"Do you mind? I'm napping here."

His tail drifted down and rested on the top of my head. AW.

This morning, after I chased him off, he curled up on the deck.
"Oh, wonderful, you found me."

I need to give him some attention. And I'm off to do just that!

    1. Thanks, Vronni! The top is actually silk charmeuse with the design printed on, and then fully beaded, front and back - it's heavy and elaborate, and right up my alley!

I love the Wonders! I had to wear them again right away!

      Thanks, my dear!

    1. Thank you! I checked out your blog, and you have a lot of ads. I also don't think I will see you again...maybe you are just looking for followers, and not actually interested in me? We shall see.

  4. Poor L., hope he gets better soon! Love the jammy suit, and the exquisite silk top is perfect with it. Those shoes are indeed awesome and of course you've got to wear them again if they're that comfortable. I have been wearing my most comfortable pair almost on repeat these days. I was, by the way, ogling your collection of shoes behind Vizzini ;-) xxx

    1. Thanks so much, Ann - poor guy, he was really sick.

I love this suit, and I'd already planned the shoes with it when the weekend rolled around, so why not wear them again? Ha, I bet you are not the only one checking out the shoes in the closet (that's why I cropped the photo!).

  5. I have always liked the idea of a suit, but never found one that really "suited" me ;)
I had a bad suit experience when I was (briefly) enrolled in a Legal Office Administration course when I was 18 and had an interview at a law firm in Toronto for a co-op position and had to have a suit. Ended up with a lilac coloured skirt suit which I never wore again. Anyway, I really like yours, it looks comfortable but still professional. Sorry to hear L is under the weather, hope he feels better soon.

    1. I've owned a lilac skirt suit too! Ugh, suits can be very constricting, not just in cut, but in style. Thanks, L is on the mend!
