Double-Sash Pixel Pirate

I've just gotten home from a corporate after-work event, and I'm tired - the couch calls! So let's get to it.
Two items I haven't worn yet this spring/summer season and they both have sashes!

  • Blouse - Roche de Paris, vintage 80s, vintage fair; first worn here in March with yellow
  • Skirt - Dries Van Noten, thrifted; last seen here in February with double-drape
  • Shoes - Dr. Scholl's, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in June for L's birthday lunch

I was kind of hoping that the sash on the blouse and the sash on the skirt would be on the same side, but they are opposite. Still, double sashes!
I love this gorgeous sand-washed silk blouse - it feels very luxurious.

I also get a kick out of the pattern, which is pixelated - a novelty and a "new" thing when this blouse was made!
The skirt is one of my treasured Dries Van Noten pieces - found in a thrift store a couple of years ago.

I feel very pirate-y in it.
Avast, me hearties! Yar! I'll keelhaul ya!

The stuff:
My feet are getting spoiled by flats - these felt high today, even though they are only around a 2" heel.

Round bling:
All pieces I love.

  • Bracelet - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Vancouver
  • Silver/onyx ring - vintage fair
  • Earrings - vintage fair

  3. Wow, what a fantastic combo, Sheila! Yay to double sashes! Love the pixellated print of that top, and obviously I have a fondness for your Dries Van Noten skirt. If you are a pirate, you're a very stylish one indeed. xxx

    1. Aw, thank you, Ann! I still giggle over the pixelated print - so cool and new back then!

I adore Dries - I always look for his stuff when I'm out hunting for treasure.

  5. Love the sashes! Again hard to decide on what to wear to work due to cool summer weather we are experiencing. Wore a skirt today and had to go buy pantyhose because my legs were freezing at work. The wardrobe plan for next week is cropped ankle pants or capris instead of skirts. I'm actually bringing extra clothing choices to work because of the rapidly changing climate. Brrrr

    1. I know, I find myself layering camisoles and wearing long sleeves to try to maintain temperature balance. I'm currently freezing in my office, and it's not much better outside!

Crazy weather, hey, Dar?? When does summer get here!?

  7. I love a good pirate shirt. Keith Richards knew what he was doing when he wore them in the 60s. X

    1. Oh, wouldn't I love one of those old 60s pirate shirts? So cool! Thanks, Jess!

  8. I like the double-sashed look. You're making me sweat just looking at you in your long sleeves! We roasted over here this week with a humidex in the high 30's and low 40's so only sleeveless floaty pieces got worn. I would happily send you some of our summer heat.

  9. You're looking mighty fabulous my dear Sheila :)
I like how in this black and white look your eye glasses pop magically.

  10. The bright glasses work well against neutrals. Thanks, Lorena!
