Scribbles, Dots, Daisies, and Cat in the Tie-Box

Woo, another hot day, with temps up to 28 degrees today! It's expected to be the same tomorrow, causing me to have to re-plan some of my outfits to deal with the soaring mercury.
It was probably too hot for wearing this leather skirt today, but I did it anyway. The things we do for fashion!

  • Blouse - Milly, thrifted; purchased here for $14.99
  • Skirt - Firenze Santa Barbara, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here (5th outfit) in April with green lace and red for Easter
  • Shoes - Lola Ramona; last worn here in April with all black and white
  • Jacket (below) - Stella McCartney for Adidas, consignment; first seen here in April with yellow and stripes

I wore a white camisole under this mostly sheer silk blouse. I love the over-sized "scribble" style of drawing on it.
I picked out the acid yellow in the pattern with this metallic yellow leather skirt.

I liked the unexpected look of the dotted shoes with the outfit.
Note the bows on the back.

One more day, and then I have a day off adventure planned on Friday.
But now I need to figure out what I can wear in 28-degree heat tomorrow!

I think I'll pass on the jacket, even though I adore the daisies on this one.
It was way too hot. I was dripping with sweat by the time I got home, but I needed the physical sunblock.

The stuff:
I love these shoes! They are so comfy. All leather, and check out the striped rubber sole.

Circular bling:
Well, except for that silicone square bracelet.

  • Silicone bracelet - Materia Design
  • Glass bangle - thrifted
  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment, Vancouver
  • Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
  • Onyx/silver ring - Tocara, vintage fair

As the temperatures climb, our little kitty finds ways to keep cool. This morning, he was in L's tie-box under the bed.
"I'm a cool cat."

Nestled in the cool silk.

  1. Every time you wear those shoes, I drool. Black and white? Bows? Ankle strap? Polka dots and stripes? Gorgeous! And such a great pop against the acid green.

    1. I know, aren't they lovely? I don't buy a ton retail but these were definitely worth it, Cynthia. Thank you!

  4. The epitome of spring in those fabulous colours. Love the daisy print jacket and the super cool shoes, too. Share some of that hear, will you? It's like Winter here!
Look at that naughty lad of yours! Cats like a bit of quality clothing, don't they? xxx

    1. I will happily share 5-10 degrees of this heat with you, Vix!

Aw, L doesn't mind - his ties are all a jumble anyway.

  5. I'm loving those acid yellows. That colour is such a great pick-me-up. Shame about the daisy jacket, as it's very cute. And can I say those shoes are utterly fabulous! Look at Vizzini! Phoebe often seeks refuge from the heat under the bed as well. xxx

    1. I love acid yellow too, Ann - it's so electric. Eh, the jacket would have been fine in 22 degree weather - it's that extra hot summer weather I could do without!

Isn't Vizzini cute? Our bedroom is the coolest place in the house, but I think he likes that covered/hemmed in/protected feeling from the tie-box.

    1. Thank you so much, Vronni! I put a lot of thought into my bling, and as you are the bling-master that's high praise. :)

He is a funny thing: a little bitey, very chatty, very smart. We give him a lot of attention, as he's a member of our family.

  7. Oh gosh, I I am so in love with those shoes! Amazing! The best slingbacks I've ever seen. I love bows on shoes.

    1. Thanks, Nancy! I actually can't do regular slingbacks - my ankles are too narrow and the strap slides off - so I love the ankle strap on these. Bows!

  8. I am finally behind my computer as I still cannot comment on my iPhone on your blog posts. Rats.
I love the combination of this top with the skirt. Brilliant. And to add those fun polka dot shoes is clever. Makes it even more interesting.
I bet L was pleased with Vizzini (NOT).

Thank you so much! Aw, L doesn't mind - we love our kitty more than a bunch of ties.

I have to wear things right away - otherwise, I might never do it!

  12. Even though I'm not inclined to wear yellow, I would give that yummy yellow leather (say that five times quickly) skirt a go. I have one of those square "gummy" silicone bracelets in red that I got at a Museum gift shop in New York.
