Magenta, Metal and a Sleepy Boy

Today I wore one of my favourite dresses, and what may be a future closet fave: this magenta blazer.
I was rather warm wearing the blazer all day, but persevered and wore it anyway. FOR FASHION.

  • Blazer - Tahari, thrifted; purchased here for $4.99
  • Dress - Comrags, thrifted; last worn here in September 2018 with baby blue (and the same pearls)
  • Shoes - Seychelles, thrifted; last seen here in April with harem pants

Imagine my surprise to find Vizzini ensconced in the gold chair this morning, instead of trying to pull off another hallway escape.
"I'm messing with your mind."

As the temperatures are up in the low 20s all week, he's been rather floppy.

Look at that face!
"Just go to work and let me sleep, Woman."

He gets lots of attention in the morning from me while I'm getting ready. Much cuddling occurs.

Ahem, back to the outfit! This is the temperature-controlled version, which I did when doing physical stuff around the office.
I have a vintage full slip on under this. As the dress is 8% metal (true!), it's a bit scratchy at the seams - the slip ameliorates that.

See? My slip is showing.
The dress is cut very slim to the body but wide in the hips - the fabric is not stretchy at all. That's a nice big slit for walking!

I wore blazer open for about half of the day.
I LOVE the magenta colour.

It also has magenta satin lining.
I wore it done up walking to and from work, and to show it off to my colleagues.

Such a great fit. What a score for $4.99!
Tip for cuffing your blazers: roll them before you put the jacket on. Then shove them up if you wish.

The stuff:
Hee, finger.

These shoes were great in the office - I'm on my feet a lot and these are nice and squishy inside. Not a good shopping shoe (tiny buckles), but excellent for the office.

Pearly bling:
 Bigass pearls!

  • Necklace/earrings - Aldo Accessories
  • Shield ring - Nine West
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower

Time to go watch the sunset through the trees.
"Go sleep on your own couch."

I cannot resist him when he's this cute.
"Well, if you insist..."

He's gotten used to me petting him out here while he basks in the sun.
"Wishing all my fans a sunny weekend."

Happy paws on my sleepy boy!

I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure! Have a fantastic weekend, and thank you so much for stopping by.

  2. I love this outfit on you. The dress is very classy and the Magenta (?) blazer looks fab with it and on you. It didn't look Magenta on the screen but purple but what a score!

If Vizzini were human he'd be wearing a bikini and gave a bottle of Factor 50 to hand...

    Have a fab weekend.

    1. Thank you so much, Vronni! I know, the purchase photos of it were with the old camera, so I'm glad that the true colour comes out in these pics.

Ha! He totally would! Happy weekend to you, my dear.

    1. Yup, I love it for that reason, Ann. I am rather mercurial when it comes to blazers so we shall see. They tend to go in waves for me.

      Happy weekend to you, darlin'!

  4. That is such a fun blazer and it looks so good on you! I really need to add a bit more variety to my blazer collection, it's all neutrals and not very exciting!

Hope you and Vizzini and L have a nice relaxing weekend!

  7. Look at Vizzini, basking in those rays of sun! Aren't they funny? Our boys will squeeze into the tiniest slither of sun to warm their fur!
Loving that colour of your magenta blazer, it really makes the colour of your turquoise glasses pop. Your dress is such a perfect fit that it could have been made to measure! xxx

    1. Yes, he'll squish himself into whatever space the sun is hitting.

  9. Superb! I think that blazer is quite a piece. How cool it has metal.. I too enjoy reading all tags on /clothing and the other day I came across one that said the component was bamboo.
I can totally tell you changed up your camera, the pictures are more clear and colors more vibrant.

    1. Thank you! It's the dress that has metal in it, actually, not the blazer. Bamboo is used a lot in clothing nowadays - it's very soft and holds dye and shape really well.

Yay! I like it - I think I have figured out most of the bells and whistles. :)
