Harem Pants, Cuddly Cat and Back for a Bag

Oh, I love this heady feeling of having all kinds of new-to-me things to wear!
Today, it's these paisley harem pants, the taupe/silver shoes and some new jewelry.

  • Blazer - Emporio Armani, vintage, thrifted; last worn here in December 2018 with velvet
  • Blouse - Michael Kors, consignment; last seen here in February while revisiting autumn
  • Trousers - UK2LA, consignment; purchased here for $14.98
  • Shoes - Seychelles, thrifted; purchased here for $19.95

I wasn't entirely happy with this outfit - I think this orange top might be nearing the end of its life with me.
I had another orange top waiting in the wings this morning, just in case this ensemble looked horrendous on.

A slim-fitting elastic-cuffed trouser is a new thing for me, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I think I like these.
"They're hideous. My claws will go right through them."

I love how Vizzini just plunks himself down.

I'll have to experiment with the pants a bit more. I love the blazer, though - it's old Armani, made in Italy, gorgeously made.
"The only thing gorgeous here is me."

Pockets are a nice bonus. I shook my head at the sizing on these: XL! Maybe for little girls?!

Vizzini is definitely a gorgeous creature.
"My fans already know this."

He was very cuddly this morning.

I didn't wear any outerwear, just did my blazer up and I was good to go.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, though.

The stuff:
These new-to-me shoes were lovely to wear all day. Ankle straps that buckle are a bit of a pain, though. They won't be shopping shoes!

Orange and blue bling:
It's hard to tell in the above pictures, but the trousers have a very strong orange element in the pattern. I showed off my new cuff/ring set to my coworkers, who were suitably impressed.

  • Cuff/ring - 60s, Italian, vintage mall; purchased here for $25.00 each
  • Eelskin bangle - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Wood hoop earrings - vintage expo
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

I went back to Vanity Fair Antique Mall after work today - I'd seen a lovely black leather purse there for a very reasonable price on the weekend, and was kicking myself yesterday and today for not buying it.
I tried to stop in on Monday, but I was too late, and the shop was closed - but I made it today, and it was still there!

It's a classic bucket bag shape, VERY soft, thick leather.
One of the metal grommets was missing on the front, but I dug around inside and found it!

I'm going to see if I can get that back in place.
The hardware on this is really nice, very heavy.

Where the straps are attached, the hardware actually hinges open, so that you can get into the bag easier.
A nice gold-tone pull for the main zipper, and I love those bigass studs going through the grommets on either side.

There is one middle pouch that zips inside, and a wallet pouch with a zip.
Both show quite a bit of wear - this purse is not modern.

I found a mark on the underside of the slide: Century Canada. They make belts and hardware for leather - it's likely that they were the supplier for the maker.
A lot of rub-off on the formerly shiny gold hardware. I love that this is a cross-body bag. I can't do shoulder bags anymore due to back/shoulder issues.

I found a tag inside:
It says "Concepts, Full Grain Leather, Made in Canada by SMS."
I couldn't find much about it online, aside from a trademark registration in 1997, but I'd guess that this is from the 80s with all that gold on it.

And how much was this beautifully soft leather bag?
A whopping $27.50. Feels like a steal!

You were so lucky that the bag was still there, it does like like a quality piece. xxx P.S. Hello Vizzini!

  9. I think maybe your issue with the orange top is that you have paired it here with the loose drapey trousers, so you are kinda loose and drapey all over. I think in the past you have loved wearing it with more fitted/sexier bottoms... as it's such a lovely colour, in your place I'd be tempted to at least try it on again with a slinky pencil skirt or trousers that "make [your] bum look good", before getting rid of it.
That sai , I personally like this flowy look - and the colour pairing is great. xx

    1. That's a really good point and observation, Radostin. I should give it another shot...or get rid of it. :) Always an option!

      Thank you so much!

  10. Love the trousers - I have similar pair but not cuffed although I do have cuffed trousers. The blazer is beautiful. I liked the orange top but agree that it might be too flowy with the pants or it might even be the neckline...

Fabulous bag and oh, of course the cat is fantastic!

  11. Vizzini is such a handsome devil - I think he and my Sylvester must share an ancestor somewhere. I like the pants and the jacket together, but I'm not loving the top and I can't decide why - it might be the neckline?

    1. Tuxie kitties are the cutest: fact! Yes, the cowl neckline has always been not quite right, but it's shockingly hard to find a good orange top!

  12. Now that i read your post i am wondering if the pants I wore in the pictures i just posted are baggy or just harem? Could they be the same.. ?
Glad that cool bag waited for you!
I was recently traveling and came across some items in consignment shops that were made in Canada and thought of you ;)
