Sparkle, Leopard and Grey

Today's outfit features both a new-to-me clothing item, and a newly-acquired accessory item.
I bought a lot of accessories over the weekend - creating outfits around them is fun, but challenging!

  • Blazer - Vivienne Westwood Red Label, vintage, thrifted; last seen here in March with a badass bow-tie
  • T-shirt - Ted Baker, thrifted; purchased here for $16.95
  • Skirt - Banana Republic, thrifted; last seen here in November 2017 the first time I wore this blazer
  • Shoes - Camper, thrifted; last worn here in August on a casual Friday
  • Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last seen here last week

Ooh, it's an all-thrifted outfit! Love when that happens! I'm totally profesh, from head to toe, for less than a regular-priced pair of shoes.
Thrilled to be wearing this gorgeous Vivienne Westwood blazer again - it's such an amazing piece. It makes my sparkly tee and shiny mini skirt look like a classy ensemble.

I wore it open all day, thusly. It was only done up when under my coat.
First wearing of this navy blue + silver sparkle tee, and it was lovely - not scratchy, not sheer, not twisty. You will very rarely see me in a plain tee - I'll always look for a more upscale fabric/weave for my layering pieces. Tees are for sleeping in, at least in my wardrobe.

I was on the fence last year about this shiny blue leopard skirt.
Good thing I hung onto it - I hear leopard is all trendy (I'm joking, leopard is saturating fashion right now, pretty hard to miss!).

Outerwear - I love my matchy sets of beret/gloves or gloves/scarves/hats.
"I do not approve of you leaving, Woman."

Vizzini's rather sulky-looking, isn't he? He's probably going to go chew on something I care about.

  • Beret - thrifted
  • Gloves - Danier Leather

The stuff:
I've found the trend of sneakers/trainers with dressy clothes...unappealing. It's not a look I gravitate to. So wearing these chunky Camper shoes is my own version of this - my grey ribbed tights worked well tonally with the deep blue of the shoes to keep my legs looking long.

Silver bling:
The abstract brooch is, of course, my newly-acquired accessory! Picked up for one whole dollar at the vintage fair last Friday.

  • Pin - vintage fair, $1.00, first wearing
  • White gold earrings - 10th anniversary gift from L
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. I'm glad you held onto that skirt Sheila, it's beautiful on you! :) I admire that you never just wear a plain tee and pick something with a bit of interes. While plain tees are a large part of my wardrobe, it's inspiring to see you don't need them to create great looks! :)

    1. Aw, thank you, Mica! I try to make sure that I love every piece I own, and that it has that "zing" for me - even something as simple as a tee. I love your looks - you do you!

  3. lovely outfit, really 'profesh' with a twist!
I totally agree on this jacket looking fabulously elegant and cool and love your leopard skirt and the new brooch. And totally love your sneakers, they look modern and edgy without being too sporty!
I've become a huge fan of sneakers due to my fussy feet and ankles, but it's an adquired taste!

    1. Yes, exactly! I like the idea of sneakers/super-comfort more than I like the look of them. This is about as close as I can do, in my comfort zone. At least for now! Never say never!

  4. I love everything about this ensemble! These pieces play so well together. And very cool that all of them are thrifted.

I totally agree with you about the sneakers with skirts and dresses thing--I do like it on other people but when I occasionally try it, it feels WRONG, for me. You totally made these sneaker style real shoes work with this outfit, and I am going to remember that. . .

    1. Thank you so much, Linda! I always love it when I discover I'm in an all-thrifted outfit.

It feels wrong to me too! I do like trying out new looks, though, and sometimes it's just a matter of time and of getting used to a certain look. I will give this a chance!

  5. Flushed with success with your totally preloved look and quite right too my dear! I have to admit that I really like this latest trend of wearing sneakers with something dressy and your take on it is perfect.

  6. And I forgot to say that I've added your sister teal dress to my latest blog post - it would have been rude not to! xxx

  7. Ahh, a Vivienne Westwood blazer! I don't really know anything about her or her fashion but I've got some free movie tickets to go see a new film about her fashion projects. Have you seen it? :)

  8. Yeah, those Camper shoes, double-yeah. Heh. I love this look, especially with the shorter length skirt - good thing you kept it. And the VW jacket must feel a dream. I have a coat in my donate pile which may now require me to chop off the sleeves to see if it will work that way. It's a one-way ticket though. Scary.
