Ruffles, Pearls and Metal

Today was a rough day back at work - I want to still be on vacation! Waa, what a whiner I am.
Whiner? I meant to say "winner"! Yeah, that's right.

  • Baby blue blouse - no label, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in July in a polychrome outfit
  • Dress - Comrags, thrifted; last worn here in May with a schmozzle of pattern
  • Shoes - Elegant Conversations, Kendra, Fluevog; last seen here in August with ruffles and suede (and more pearls!)
  • Coat (below) - Lord & Taylor, thrifted; last worn here on Friday

Less than an hour after arriving at work, I had to deal with an influx of 15 people for a meeting...that I hosted! I never do meetings, so I went classy. Not with a K!
September is when I go through my closet and pick my favourite spring/summer items and remix them one more time before they get packed away. I had to wear my metal dress again. The content is 92% cotton/8% metal, really!

I've never worn it with a blouse layered under it.
I love this baby blue blouse - it's been a very good cost-per-wear item, easily under $1/wear now. For a washable blouse, that's awesome (I sweated in it today!).

Outerwear - I pack this light jacket away as well during fall/winter.
It's also been excellent cost-per-wear over the couple of years I've had it.

The stuff:
Wearing a heel again took a little getting used to, but these are very comfy (for a heel).

Pearly bling:
I bought this necklace new in 2009 (first worn here, flashback! I still have that top and skirt), for maybe $20, and I've easily worn it dozens of times.

  • Necklace - Aldo Accessories
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

Actually, the same goes for all my bling today! I've worn all of these pieces many, many times before.

  1. Hope your meeting went well! I love the blouse under the dress - I rarely layer like that (although I did recently) it's something I should take more advantage of in the cooler weather! :)
